Today, I received a rather peculiar phone call. The chap on the line mentioned, "We're aware that you've been receiving numerous unwanted marketing calls." Naturally, I was curious and inquired who "we" specifically referred to. He replied, "The Telephone Privacy Service." I made it clear that I had no intention of forking out any money for such a service, and just like that, he hung up. A quick check with 1471 unveiled that the call was traced back to this number.

I received a call from this number earlier today, and the person on the line claimed to represent the Telephone Preference Service. They mentioned they were aware of the numerous nuisance calls we've been receiving. Just as I was about to delve deeper into the conversation, the line went dead. I called back, only to find it was a private line, where a woman informed me that this type of situation happens all too frequently for her as well.
