Gave our mobile a ring but didn’t bother to leave a message. Bit odd, really.

Got a call from some firm claiming they can stop cold calls. I had a feeling they might try to get money out of me, but I didn’t even let it get that far. It just seemed obvious that people annoyed by cold calls wouldn’t appreciate getting one from a company like that. Honestly, just ignore it. If you’ve got caller ID, don’t pick up - let the phone go to voicemail instead.

My mum got a call from this number, and the person said they were with BT and could help block all the annoying calls she’s been getting.

A woman rang me up saying "Hello Mr Bailey," claiming she was from some Telephone Privacy Service and wanted to discuss nuisance calls. I told her we hadn't had any and before I could ask more, she just cut off the call. Feels a bit dodgy to me - now they've got confirmation there's a Mr Bailey linked to this number. Not sure what their real aim was.
