I recently discovered that Privacy Support Ltd had the audacity to reach out to my dear aunt, who is 89 years young, despite her being on the Telephone Preference Service list. They went as far as to peddle a call blocker for a staggering £79. When she attempted to cancel the order, they quite obstinately claimed that they were dispatching the device that very day. Thankfully, she promptly contacted her bank to halt her card and have a new one issued. Afterwards, she rang the company again, clearly stating her desire to cancel the device, but they still persisted in claiming it was on its way. Only after she mentioned that her card had been cancelled did they finally agree to scrap the order. Oddly, they inquired if she had been influenced by family to withdraw her purchase. They then informed her that they would ring back later that same day, seemingly disregarding her TPS registration and her expressed wishes against the device. True to form, they rang her again, this time attempting to extract payment by cheque, proving they would rather ignore her refusal! The Managing Director of Privacy Support, Danny Keet, has previously made headlines in the Mirror, Guardian, and Observer for duping customers with his former venture, Got U Covered Ltd. That business operated with a similar modus operandi as Privacy Support, harassing TPS-registered individuals with cold calls, but instead of selling call blockers, they were hawking insurance for Sky Satellite products. It seems that Danny Keet acquired a database brimming with names and numbers from a business run by a director who has since been disbarred. This particular director not only handled a company that sold personal data without filtering it against the TPS but also ran a similar insurance operation to Keet's, cold calling unsuspecting customers and masquerading as Sky representatives. It's no wonder he found himself banned from company directorship for seven years! Steer clear of Privacy Support Ltd and any entities associated with Danny Keet, which also include Shore Brokers Ltd, Home Computer Support Ltd, and One4All Building Services Ltd.
