There was loads of noise in the background when this bloke called me, sounded like he was Asian and said he was from "Smart Savings UK". I told him I’d never come across that company before. Then he tried to say I qualified for a £200 discount on my energy bills! I just told him straight up, "That sounds like total rubbish and a scam." I’ve read other people’s reviews and this company seems really shady. Proper scammers if you ask me!

This number rings us up about four times every week, always the same routine. They ask if Mr Ellis is around and want to have a word with him. When I tell them Mr Ellis has never lived here and to stop calling, the bloke who calls himself "Dave" just hangs up. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever met someone from India or Pakistan named Dave before! Seems like it’s quite a common name over there or something.

Got a call from some place like Car Phone Warehouse or whatever, sounded dodgy. The guy on the line had a thick Indian accent and his English was terrible. When I told him where to stick it, he went and said some rubbish in Arabic, something like "zabour". I blocked him straight away. Pretty obvious it was just another scam from our mates overseas. Honestly, I’m only shocked he didn’t mention having an oil-rich uncle - though maybe that’s a whole Nigerian thing.

The caller sounded like an Indian bloke, saying he was from Carphone Warehouse and wanted to push me into taking a new phone contract. I’d already told them in the first call that I’d get in touch if I was interested, especially after I asked for an email instead of discussing it on the phone. So when they called back, I just repeated that if I wanted to go ahead, I’d use the contact details from the email they sent - which honestly, I doubt is genuine, so I won’t bother.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse. When I explained that I was isolating due to Covid and wasn't keen on upgrading my phone, he started hurling insults at me, repeatedly calling me a "little bitch"-six times, no less! I asked for his name and insisted on speaking to his manager, and he actually put me through to another chap, which made me suspect the whole thing was dodgy. It’s hard to believe someone would speak like that and then willingly connect me to their supervisor-clearly a scam! Thankfully, I shared no personal information and hung up. It's absolutely appalling behaviour! I can only imagine how many elderly or vulnerable folks these shady characters prey upon. I've now blocked the number.
