I got a call from a woman speaking with a West of Scotland accent, asking if she was talking to (my name). I said yes. She said she was from 'National Research' and wanted to ask me a few quick questions, said it would only take a minute. Just as I started saying "I don't usually do surveys," she suddenly cut me off and hung up. I’m completely sure it was a scam, especially after trying to find that company online and coming up with nothing.

My centenarian mother-in-law recently received a phone call from this number. The individual on the line claimed to represent Edinburgh Market Research and insisted on speaking directly with her. When I intervened, explaining my relationship as her son-in-law, they eventually agreed to ‘remove her from their list’... I’m curious to find out how they obtained her information in the first place, especially since I registered her with the Telephone Preference Service quite some time ago. I plan to file a formal complaint with the TPS very soon regarding this caller: Edinburgh Market Research.

Some woman said she was from “Glasgow research.” I turned off the radio and asked her to say that again, which she did. Then I asked what exactly they did. She said, “We’re a research firm located in Glasgow!” I told her that was obvious from the name, but what did she want from me? Then she just disconnected. Felt like a scam to me.

Just got a call from some firm called Edinburgh Research just before 1pm on 6th Dec 2019. They said they’d only ask me two questions, so I agreed, thinking it was something about the election. Then the caller mentioned I might win a prize or something, but I told them I wasn’t interested. After that, they quickly said ‘sorry about that’ and ended the call. So it seems it wasn’t really about research at all - they just wanted to extract more info from me.
