Cheers for the heads up, that number rang me a couple of times yesterday but I didn’t answer. It’s the classic washing machine breakdown cover con. Eventually, they’ll attempt to grab your bank or card info to charge you for dodgy or totally fake insurance. Best not to let it get that far, just tell ’em to jog on and hang up straight away.

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent who said his name was Davis and claimed to be from Feedback UK. He already had my name and address, which was a bit creepy. Then he started asking if I owned my home or rented it. When I said I rented, he went on to ask whether it was a private landlord or council housing. Then, out of nowhere, he wanted to know the brand of my washing machine! I told him to remove my number from their records but he just kept talking over me, so I ended the call.
