Foolishly, I decided to return the call, only to find myself placed on hold for what felt like an eternity – a whole six minutes with no response whatsoever. That number rang me once more, claiming to be from BT Internet. I attempted to divert her from her scripted spiel by inquiring about the weather in her location and the country she was phoning from. She snapped at me to be quiet and hung up. Quite a role reversal, I must say, as usually I'm the one ending the call!

Received a call this morning, around 9:30, purporting to be from Amazon regarding a supposed order I’d placed for £199. Naturally, I hadn’t ordered anything! Told the caller to go away. Just had another ring from that same number about twenty minutes ago, but guess what? My phone’s now completely unresponsive. What a nuisance!

I received a rather dubious message claiming that my credit card had been debited £900. It instructed me to hit #1 if I didn’t recognise the charge. Upon doing so, a representative apologised for the supposed mistake and then requested that I "validate" my credit card details, including the CCV, in order to halt the transaction. Definitely a scam to be wary of!

I'm in a bit of a quandary here. I ended up not answering the phone, but have received a couple of calls from this number. It's becoming quite the annoyance, and I can’t shake the feeling that there might be something dodgy about it as well.

She claimed to be representing Amazon and mentioned I could receive a discount on my Amazon Prime subscription for a fee of £79. The catch? I’ve never even signed up for Amazon Prime! I got a call at a quarter to two this afternoon. I chose not to say anything, and the line went silent! In my experience, many of these dodgy calls seem to respond to voice; if you keep your lips sealed, they usually hang up!

Received a call from 01235619340, and it’s definitely a dodgy one. I've gone ahead and added it to my CPR V10000 by entering **7#012356# to block any numbers beginning with that irritating prefix!

Honestly, if I hadn't been caught off guard by that auto-generated call instructing me to press a button to speak to an adviser, I would have loved to string them along for as long as I could. It would have been rather amusing to waste their time and rack up their phone charges!
