Got a call from 01235355110 earlier today, that's the 4th time in a couple of days. Sounded like a call centre. No one was talking, maybe they figured out I was annoyed but kept me on the line anyway. I ended the call and only then noticed the line dropped when I tried to check the number. On 20th Jan 2020 around 9.16am, I picked up a call from this number. The voice on the other end was a woman with an Asian accent, speaking clearly and quite politely. She was asking for someone who used to have my number. When I told her she had the wrong person, she just hung up without saying sorry or explaining anything. Given how she behaved and reading other people's experiences with this number, I'm pretty sure it was a scam attempt.

Just like some others mentioned, I got a call from a really polite Asian woman who claimed she wanted to assist me in getting back the 20% tax HMRC supposedly took from my PPI payout. I let her go on for a while before cutting in to say I’ve never made a PPI claim, and if HMRC was going to pay me anything, they’d do it themselves, not via some call centre in India. I told her she might want to consider finding a more straightforward job.
