Got a call from someone claiming to be a phone company worker. Said they’d use a number lookup to see who my provider was. Told them I wasn’t giving any personal info or details, just in case. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

She had a really thick accent, so I asked her to say again which company she was representing, but she just wouldn’t give a straight answer. I told her I didn’t know the company and then she hung up on me. Always cracks me up when they do that - I was nice and polite, so I feel no guilt. Too bad you can’t say the same about these fraudsters.

01235 300032 called me, saying they were from “phone house” and that EE had passed my number on to them. The funny thing is, I’m not even an EE customer. He wanted to know what phone I use (I made something up) and what network I’m with (I just said I switch around a lot without giving a name). He tried to get me to sign up for a £5 a month contract, but I told him I thought he was dodgy and then he ended the call. From his accent and noise in the background, sounded like some call centre in India.
