Got a call from someone claiming to be a phone company worker. Said they’d use a number lookup to see who my provider was. Told them I wasn’t giving any personal info or details, just in case. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

He spoke with a heavy African accent which made it tough to catch everything. When I asked what the call was about, he was really unclear and acted a bit odd. Based on other calls like this I've had before, it definitely felt like a scam, so I just ended the call.

Really thick Asian accent. I told him I couldn’t make out what he was saying. No clue who he claimed to be calling for. He just said somethin about a promotion, asked if I wanted one. I figured I’d be polite and said no thanks, then ended the call.

I didn't recognise the number, so I decided to let it ring. Curious, I tried ringing back with my caller ID switched off, but it just said the number's not in service. I've had a few of these lately; it's clear they're dodgy calls trying to pull a fast one.

She had a really thick accent, so I asked her to say again which company she was representing, but she just wouldn’t give a straight answer. I told her I didn’t know the company and then she hung up on me. Always cracks me up when they do that - I was nice and polite, so I feel no guilt. Too bad you can’t say the same about these fraudsters.

01235 300032 called me, saying they were from “phone house” and that EE had passed my number on to them. The funny thing is, I’m not even an EE customer. He wanted to know what phone I use (I made something up) and what network I’m with (I just said I switch around a lot without giving a name). He tried to get me to sign up for a £5 a month contract, but I told him I thought he was dodgy and then he ended the call. From his accent and noise in the background, sounded like some call centre in India.

Really irritating bloke with a thick accent, kept trying to push some product. SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report every scam call or text straight to the police fraud record. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the section for ‘reporting a phishing attempt’ and carefully read all the info provided. After that, enter the details about the scam, including any links or website addresses. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info unless you’ve actually lost money. Reporting all these scams is the best way to help the police keep track of these dodgy attempts to cheat us.

Got a call from a guy saying his name was Michael, he was talking about upgrading my phone through Carphone Warehouse. Problem is, I've never been a customer there. Seemed a bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from an Indian bloke on 01235300032. He asked me if I was a virgin and then went on about how he was too, wanting me to ‘take his virginity’. I wasn’t having any of it and gave him a piece of my mind, told him never to ring back. He even threatened he’d keep calling until I gave in. Proper creepy and disturbing behaviour.

Didn’t bother picking up.
