Reports on phone number 01234815778

I got locked out of my Yahoo email and found a number online that said it was Yahoo support (03300017710). I rang it and someone rang me back from 01234815778. They then took control of my laptop remotely and told me I had to pay £250 to fix my laptop problems, which was odd since I hardly use it and the real problem was just with my email. I said I’d call back if I decided to go ahead. After that, I looked up the number to see if it was genuine and it turns out it’s a scam! I’ve reported it and restarted my laptop cause I don’t trust what they did.

I made a web search about Microsoft 365, thinking I was dealing with Microsoft themselves, and then got a call from this number. A guy named Nishu said he was an engineer and got access to my laptop remotely, telling me some stuff had to be fixed. When he started asking for payment, it felt off, so I asked him to send me a quote by email, but he said no. That’s when I started doubting who he really was. Later, I contacted Microsoft directly and they fixed everything for free. But I’m still wondering what exactly Nishu was doing on my computer while he was connected?

I’ve got a bit of a tech dilemma on my hands, but I’m uncertain about this caller I spoke to-was he for real or just putting on an act?
