Yesterday, I received a phone call from an unknown number. The person on the line claimed to be from Amazon and informed me that someone in Luton was attempting to use my account for a fraudulent purchase of a £120 gift card. Sensing something suspicious, I immediately identified him as a scammer. However, instead of ending the call, the individual became verbally abusive and started asking highly inappropriate and offensive questions.

Earlier this morning, my wife received a call from this number. She politely informed the gentleman that she was not interested, but unfortunately, he reacted in an abusive manner. Responding firmly, my wife told him to go away and promptly ended the call. Shockingly, the individual called her back and proceeded to use derogatory language, calling her inappropriate names. He even went as far as making ominous remarks, claiming to know her address before abruptly terminating the call.

Got a call from an Asian guy today, I just ended it. He called back, I ended it again. Third time he called he was quite cheeky, claiming he was from the National Cyber Agency. Thought he was quite pushy. He asked what was showing on my PC screen due to some dodgy activity linked to my address. My computer was off so I said I was tied up and he said he'd call back in an hour.

01234225587 is a scam call. For more than two years, I've been getting calls nearly every day, sometimes twice a day, from people claiming to be from "Microsoft" or a "broadband company," but it’s really an Indian call centre. They’ve recently used this same number, which I bet isn’t real. Anyway, I finally got the upper hand. I bought a landline with caller ID and an answerphone so I can screen all calls. They’re wasting their time and money now because I never pick up. I’m just waiting to see what they do next.

They claimed to be from the National Security of the Internet, which sounded like a made-up name to me. They said there was a problem with my computer. I asked them which operating system I was using, and they said Microsoft. Well, they couldn't have been more mistaken; the correct answer should have been Windows. The chat continued for another three minutes, and I must admit, I was quite entertained by someone who had no knowledge about computers whatsoever. In conclusion, they are definitely scammers.

01234225587 rang me earlier today, but I just let the answerphone take it. Been getting scam calls for nearly two years now, likely ever since TalkTalk’s data leak. They mostly have an Indian accent and use some ridiculous English name. Claim they’re from Microsoft - like Microsoft would bother calling me directly. I usually get two calls a day - one roughly at 11am and another about 2pm. Lately, I got a phone with an answer recorder built-in so I can screen calls without actually answering. This way, it wastes their time and I’ve got a bit of peace. Definitely worth the buy.

Got three calls already this week from this number saying they're from Microsoft and my computer has been hacked. Bit odd since I don't even own a computer. It was a guy with an Asian accent who got really rude once I questioned him. Watch out, folks.

Got a call early today from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he was from BT Openreach. He said my internet had been hacked. When I asked what I should do, he told me to switch on my computer so he could help fix it. I told him I don't own a computer and just use 4G on my phone. He didn't really know what to say after that. I ended the call.

Received a call from someone with an Indian accent, who said his name was John Martin when I asked. He told me my IP address was at risk and first wanted to speak to my wife. Oddly, he knew both our names and address. I asked for his number, which he wouldn’t give at first but then gave me 0196522790 after I pushed. Neither the number he called from nor the one he gave matched anything I could find. I’m really shocked that in this day and age, with all this info and the clear risk these people pose, no authorities seem to have done anything about them yet.

Got a call saying my "computer" had problems - I told them I don't own a "computer" but they kept insisting I did. They talked about my IP address being used and asked if it wasn’t me then who else could it be. I said I actually have a laptop and thanked them for letting me know it was faulty. I added I’d get my son, who works in IT and knows all about this stuff, to check it out. They said that’d be too late and it had to be fixed right now. When I told her he lived with me and I’d get him to speak with her, she just hung up.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. But I know Microsoft never calls me, they always email me instead. So I told him straight up, "You're talking rubbish! Get lost!" He hung up right away, no shock there. I usually have a TrueCall blocker that stops these scam calls, but this one slipped through because the number looked like it was from Bedford, and I’d actually allowed numbers from that area just in case. I've since sorted that out.

This bloke with a really thick accent called, telling me to hit all sorts of buttons to fix an infection on my computer. I played along, kept chatting for a good ten minutes like I was following his instructions. Then out of nowhere, he started saying awful stuff about my missus and my daughter. Dunno what got him so riled up.

It was quite disturbing and offensive when I informed the caller that it was a scam and asked him not to contact me again, but he persistently made repeated calls and even went so far as to threaten my wife's life.

Got a call from some overseas scammer saying they were from Microsoft and needed to fix my computer because it was being hacked. I just went along with it, asking loads of questions about how it happens and stuff. But when I told him I don’t even have a computer, he suddenly got all annoyed and snappy. Proper funny that!

Got calls loads of times between 8 in the morning and 9 at night from this number. There’s a pause when you pick up and you can hear an Indian-sounding call centre in the background. I hung up after seeing what others wrote. I’d say this is dodgy, just block the number or screen your calls. Don’t bother answering or chatting with them.

012345225587 rang me saying there was a problem with our internet. My missus told them there's nothing wrong and to remove us from their list. Just a minute later they phoned back and shouted something really rude at her "I want to f###k you Mrs King." Proper scary stuff!

Some guy rang saying he was from Microsoft - I only picked up 'cause I was expecting a call from my garage about the car. Told him that and tried to end the call, but he kept asking if I had the computer. I said yes and tried to hang up again, but he said he'd call back later. Next time, I'll just let it go to voicemail.

Early in the morning around 8, I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, said his name was Joshua. Claimed he was calling from Microsoft and was worried my computer might be hacked. He asked me to switch on my PC so he could guide me on what to do next. I refused and he said he’d ring me back at 10. I later checked the number and it traced back to a place in Bedford, which doesn’t seem like a Microsoft office. I also saw loads of other scam reports about this number here on this site.

Caller: Allegedly from "NCSC". How amusing! I received a rather protracted call claiming to be from the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). An Indian gentleman, presumably from a call centre, could not validate his identity, yet he had the audacity to instruct me to investigate three so-called "suspicious" issues on my computer, including some netstat Foreign Address nonsense and eventually eventvwr Administrative Events, which merely flagged a fault within my Xbox application! He then had the gall to propose taking control of my machine via teamviewer.exe, which I naturally declined. After several minutes of vexed back-and-forth, he ominously declared he "knew where I lived" and threatened to send people over to "kick my backside" or "break my bones". Upon mentioning I’d recorded our conversation, he resorted to an utterly ridiculous insult about my mother before abruptly hanging up. What a foolish chap! It baffles me why he chose to keep up the argument when he could clearly tell I was toying with him!

Received a call at a rather rude hour, precisely 7:15 in the morning! What a delightful way to start the day. The caller was pretending to be someone important, but I couldn’t make heads or tails of her jabbering. After labelling her a scammer, I decided to end the conversation by hanging up. Would you believe it? She rang me back, spewing a torrent of insults, which is quite the achievement given that she was the one interrupting my peace! Honestly, what a bunch of shameless crooks.

I got a call from that exact same number a week ago. It's a Bedford area code but the bloke sounded like he was from somewhere in the Far East. First time, he claimed to be from the National Broadband Network, today he said he was with Microsoft. Told me someone was trying to hack into my computer. I asked if their records showed this was a Microsoft computer and he said yes. I told him that was odd as I don’t own a Microsoft laptop, mine’s an Apple, so he must be trying to scam me. Then he just hung up.

Got a call at 8 in the morning from a lady with an Asian accent, said her name was “Charlene Davis” and claimed to be from Microsoft. She said my PC files got corrupted during the night. She dropped an employee ID “MS239” and some address in London to sound legit. I humoured her for a while but then just ended the call. After that, my answerphone picked up three calls but no one left any message.

This number rang me saying my machine had been compromised and they wanted to speak to the owner. I had to repeat twice that I was the one in charge. They then asked what was showing on my screen, I told them it was off - which wasn’t true as I was sat right there with it on. They told me to turn it on, but I refused and put the phone down. A few seconds later, they rang again. I could see the caller ID so I let it ring out and it went to voicemail, then they hung up. They tried once more but I didn’t pick up. That was around 11:35 in the morning, and since then no more calls.

On Friday, 4th December 2020 at around 12:15 PM, I received a call from a female voice with a strong Indian accent, claiming her name was "Charlene Davis" or something similar. She pretended to be from the national cyber security centre and stated that she worked for Microsoft. However, I quickly realized it was a scam and promptly ended the call. Undeterred, the caller immediately dialled again, asserting once more that she was affiliated with Microsoft. I firmly told her that I had no interest in whatever she was attempting to market or pilfer, and hung up for the second time.

Had a bloke called "Joshua" ring me up with a strong Indian accent that was pretty hard to understand. He claimed he was an engineer for Microsoft Windows. I told him straight that Microsoft don’t do random calls like that and he was just a scammer. After that he got quite rude. I messed about with him for about five minutes just to hold him up from bugging any older folks, then he totally lost his temper and told me to drop dead before slamming the phone down. The number 01234 is likely from some dodgy overseas call centre.
