Some bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me up, going on about it being really urgent. He said something about new government rules and warned I'd lose my phone number if I didn’t sort it out. Felt a bit off to me.

First off, I had a call from someone claiming to be the Metropolitan Police - yeah right, straight to blocked. Then, out of nowhere, a persistent number from North America, 01174526812, kept ringing. Didn’t even pick up, just blocked it real quick.

I’m absolutely fuming! At 80 years old, with my mobility issues, I took a tumble whilst rushing in from the garden, and now my arm is in a right state! What’s become of all that chatter about putting a stop to these pestering phone calls? They’re more rampant than ever, aren’t they?! Most people have mobiles these days (and I do too), but those who can only manage with a landline are really suffering the consequences of these scammers and opportunists! We’re living in an era dominated by technology, so why on earth hasn’t anything been done to tackle this issue? It's quite baffling!

I found this caller to be incredibly pushy and downright irritating. He introduced himself as someone from a firm named Beneficial and proceeded to inquire about various aspects of my home life.
