Phone number ☎️ 01233746295 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance scam number primarily impersonating Microsoft representatives, often with Indian-accented callers falsely claiming computer issues or security breaches. Callers may become hostile if challenged and sometimes mix threats with aggressive language. In addition to Microsoft tech support scams, some calls reference Amazon Prime subscription fraud or falsely claim to be from government or cyber security agencies. Calls are frequently silent, hang up abruptly, or deliver automated messages urging recipients to press buttons, all typical scam indicators. Many victims, including elderly people, are targeted repeatedly, creating harassment concerns. Legitimate companies, including Microsoft and government bodies, do not make unsolicited calls like these. It is advised not to engage, never share personal details, and report the number to telecom providers and authorities. Blocking the number is strongly recommended.

If you come across this number, it’s a good idea to not just post about it here but also flag it elsewhere. You might want to notify BT too by going on their consumer scam page - just look for the scams section on their site. It helps to get the word around and hopefully stop more people getting caught out.

I had a missed call and rang 1471 to find out who it was, but didn’t know the number at all. Looked it up on this site and found out it was a scam. Bit of a relief really, as I was worried it might have been someone trying to reach me about a family member or mate.

I just got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft saying my PC was hacked or something. I couldn’t help but chuckle, and when he asked why, I told him “Because you’re the scammer here.” Then he threatened me, saying I’d lose my computer in an hour. I hung up and looked up the number on 1471 - turns out it’s the very same one I get twice daily with those bogus Microsoft scam calls. Honestly, it’s pretty annoying now!

Got a call from this number earlier. There was a pause of a few seconds and then a man with an accent asked how I was. It felt a bit dodgy so I just ended the call. Seems like it was probably some kind of scam.

Got a missed call from this number earlier, no voicemail left. I've seen loads of reports online about them claiming to be from Microsoft. Honestly, Microsoft never calls out of the blue. They've got millions of users, there's no way they monitor everyone's device like that. Best just ignore and don’t engage, it's total scam alert. Properly dodgy stuff!

Number: 01233 746295 - Got a call at about 2:19pm on 24/8/20 from some muppet pretending to be 'London Police'! They said my email was linked to ISIS in Nigeria and Pakistan, which is a new low. The bloke even got my name and email right. Told him off sharpish and ended the call. Couple of questions though: 1) How did they even get my info? 2) BT - seriously, will you do anything about this? Got a call from a woman claiming to be from internet security, who actually knew my full name and address. She said there was an issue with my internet security. I told her firmly to get lost and stop wasting my time. I also mentioned I was aware of about 70 complaints linked to that number and reminded her that cold calling like this is against UK law. I answered and said hello, but there was no reply, so I just ended the call.

Got another call from some Indian tech support guy just a couple hours after the first. He went straight into the same spiel about my computer having viruses and sending warning messages to their servers. Typical scam stuff, nothing new really.

Got a call at 9:55 on the 4th of August 2020 from someone who said they were from Microsoft. The moment I said “scam,” they just hung up straight away!

This number 01233746295 has rung me twice in less than a week now. First time, it was some bloke pretending to be from the government. Today, some weirdo going on about Windows or something. Just rubbish excuses to trap folks. Proper nasty behaviour.

They just hung up after about 10 seconds, no reply at all. So annoying!

Somebody rang my 91 year old mum and said if she didn’t share her bank info, they’d disconnect her phone. Luckily, she doesn’t actually know any of her bank details, so that saved her from any trouble!

Got a voicemail from some automated American voice, saying something like "$99 for buying an IT gift card, if you wanna cancel or get a refund, ring us at 352940137...". Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from 01233 746295 earlier, some lady with a foreign accent claiming to be from Microsoft about my PC. I just told her she was pulling a scam and ended the call straight away.

Some bloke said he was Roger from Microsoft and asked if I was the primary user of my computer. I lied and said no, and then he just ended the call.

A bloke with a strong Indian accent called me saying he was a Government official from British Services. I couldn't stop laughing, nearly dropped me phone! Then, just like that, he ended the call without saying anything else!

I got this automated call saying I supposedly bought $9 worth of gift cards and if I wanted to cancel, I should ring a certain number. Felt dodgy to me, so I just ignored it and didn’t bother calling back.

Got a weird call from someone probably from India or China, talking about Amazon stuff and some computer upgrades or whatever. Every time I tell them to quit ringing me and that they're scammers, they just drop the call! It’s kinda funny how quickly they hang up lol.

A bloke called out my name, and I merely replied with a 'perhaps.' He then shot back with a rather rude 'sod off, you tosser.'

I didn't pick up since I didn't know the number. But after seeing the other comments, I think it's an Amazon scam. Funny thing is, yesterday on a different call, I got a recorded message about Amazon Prime. Quite the coincidence, isn't it?

Been getting calls two days in a row about my Amazon account, and then today some Asian-sounding person just cut me off before I could say anything. Looks like these things are back to their usual annoying selves. Were they hiding away somewhere and now they’re finally creeping out again?

I received a call concerning my computer, but I decided to end the conversation abruptly.

Fraudulent! It was clearly a call centre, and I could hear numerous voices monotonously reciting the same lines. Best to just ignore it and let them get bored and hang up!

There's really nothing more infuriating than a daft pillock who goes and cuts the line before uttering a single word! Honestly, it makes my blood boil. I'm seriously considering tracking him down in Ashford, Kent, and ensuring he gets a taste of his own medicine. Just so happens I've got a few mates who are more than willing to join me in giving this numpty a right talking to. Just you wait!

Sounds like a bunch of scammers operating out of some call centre. I can’t understand why the big tech companies, who earn loads from all of us using their stuff, don’t step up and put a stop to it. Best thing you can do is just ignore them and let the call ring out - they usually hang up pretty quick. They’re just taking advantage of people to make a fortune... it’s about time governments got involved and helped shut down this dodgy business targeting everyday folks.

Got a voicemail saying my bank card would be charged for some iTunes subscription, which I don’t even use. They told me to ring back to stop the payment. Clearly a scam trying to get my bank info.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, they wanted me to open anydesk[###] after telling me to check event viewer. I told them I wasn’t interested and hung up, but then they rang me back again. Just a heads up, Microsoft doesn’t call you out of the blue like that!

Got this call claiming there’s a charge on my Amazon account linked to an iTunes gift card or something similar. They told me to ring a certain number if I wanted to cancel the payment. Honestly, it smelt fishy, maybe just a spoofed caller trying to trick me.

[2020-07-15 10:31] This number rang on my home phone and when I answered with a simple “hello,” the person on the other end spoke with a very strong Indian accent. They introduced themselves as “John Williams from the WINDOWS TECHNICAL TEAM,” which is your classic scam call line. I didn’t hesitate to block this number straight away. These types of calls are pretty dangerous - they’re designed to trick people into handing over access or money. If you ever get one, don’t trust anything they say, and whatever you do, don’t let them mess around with your laptop, phone, or tablet.
