Got a call that ended abruptly right after they said something about mobile phones - definitely felt like a scam to me.
3 years
I keep trying to block them but the calls come from numbers almost the same as before. Definitely some kind of mobile data scam. Really annoying.

Someone rang me earlier and was fishing for my bank info, felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

I received a rather dodgy call from the number 01233 542036, which seemed to be coming from a call centre abroad. They claimed they could slash my phone bill, but I was having none of it! I told them to get lost and promptly blocked their number.

If a number isn’t saved in my contacts, I usually just let it ring or ignore it altogether. I don’t bother answering calls from unknown numbers.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, then started getting texts on my phone that looked like they were from O2’s security team... looked pretty legit at first. Next thing I know, money’s being taken from my bank, and the bank had to get in touch to block my card and make sure I wasn’t the one sending £9.20 to some firm in Pakistan... what on earth? Seems like a real O2 staff member is pulling a con, and now O2 says they’re looking into it.

Got a call from some blokes saying they were from 02, trying to sell me an upgrade. Told ’em I wasn’t bothered.

Got a call again from some number offering to lower my phone bill or something, didn't bother picking up and just blocked it. That's already the third different one I’ve had today.

Pretty clear this was a dodgy call from someone with no morals and not smart enough to find a proper, honest way to earn a living.

I didn’t even pick up. This is the second dodgy call I’ve had just today. It’s usually the same deal - a bunch of calls over a couple of weeks, then nothing for a while. After a few months, the calls kick off again, either on my mobile or the house phone.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. This site is really helpful in spotting scam calls. Cheers for that!

They called me several times but never left a voicemail, which made me doubt their authenticity. Honestly, it felt quite irritating, so I ended up blocking the number.

They just phoned me pretending to be from a British mobile provider. I started asking loads of questions, and it was funny how they kept switching up who they said they were working for. It went on for about three minutes, and the woman got so annoyed she told me I was wasting her time.

I got a phone call from this number today but I was already talking to someone else so I didn’t pick up. Glad I didn’t tho, looks like these guys are scammers.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, pretty difficult to catch what he was saying. He claimed he was from O2 trying to give me a discount. I threw a curveball by asking him to prove he was genuine, asking the price of my last bill as a security check. As soon as I asked, he just ended the call straight away. Definitely a scammer, no doubt about it!

I picked up but there was no one on the line, so I ended the call and then blocked the number straight away.

I reckon this could be a dodgy call.

Received a call purportedly from O2, claiming they’d slash my bill by a whopping 40%. It all seems a bit dodgy to me... could definitely hear the typical bustling of an Indian call centre in the background too.

She claimed to be calling on behalf of O2, but I told her they shut down ages ago, about 5 years back.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling from EE mobile. She told me I could get half price for six months because supposedly I had a good credit score with them. When she asked for my DOB, I said "If this was legit, you’d already have that info," and then she just dropped the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Received a call purporting to be from O2, claiming they could slash my bill by 40%. It all seemed a bit dodgy, with no real changes to my account but they were eager to get hold of my details. I’ve dealt with this nonsense previously and, after reaching out to O2 in Ashford, I was informed it was a scam.

Keeps calling but never bothers to leave a voicemail. They've had several opportunities, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number. It’s probably a scam, especially if they can’t be bothered to communicate properly.

I was presented with a deal for an EE iPhone at £20 a month, but I didn't reach out via 150 - it seemed like it came from an EE number. They also requested my email info, which they surely should already possess if they were calling my number. Quite fishy, if you ask me!
