Got a call from this number around 11 in the morning. The bloke had a strong Indian accent, like those call centre ones, and I could hear loads of noise in the background. The line kept dropping out. I told him to ring me on my mobile instead and cut him off. He then asked if the BMW was still available, mentioned a postcode, and if he could come round tomorrow to have a look. Then he asked about an HPI report. I instantly clocked it was one of those scams where they try to get you to pay for a car history check through their own dodgy site and end up stealing your card info. I’ve blocked the number and reported it as a scam. They’ve really upped their game; before it was mainly texts. He claimed he was ringing from London but the number shows Kent.

The call was crackly and kept breaking up. I told him to ring me on my mobile and then ended the call. He asked if the BMW was still for sale, gave a postcode, and wanted to know if he could pop round tomorrow. Then he brought up something about an HPI check. That’s when I clocked it was a scam - they try to get you to pay for a vehicle history check on their dodgy website to snag your card info and personal details. I’ve blocked the number and reported it as fraud. They seem to be trying new tricks now, used to just spam texts about it. He claimed to be calling from London but the number’s actually Kent.

Got a call regarding a car I put up for sale. They asked for my email and then sent over a link to buy an HPI check. They claimed to be ringing from Manchester, which was odd because the number showed Ashford in Kent. Bit fishy if you ask me.
