A woman rang me up claiming she could slash my TV insurance from £7 to just £5. To be clear, I don’t even have any TV insurance, but I decided to humour her and see where it leads. After confirming my identity, I was handed off to a so-called “manager.” This chap then inquired about which bank I used. I retorted that if they already knew I supposedly paid £7 for my TV cover, they ought to possess my details. He then admitted he wasn’t affiliated with my actual provider, merely stating he could lower my premiums. I firmly told him I wouldn’t divulge my banking information, and lo and behold, he hung up.
