I’m on the O2 network and have always been cautious about sharing my number. It’s baffling how I keep receiving calls addressed to me by my maiden name! One time the person just kept saying hello like they thought someone was gonna answer, and another time it sounded like they were finishing another call because they said goodbye then ended the call to me. The voice sounds Scottish and you can hear background noise like a call centre. No clue who they actually are but they’re really stubborn about calling.

They claimed to be from Energy Saving Scotland, offering a programme to help you save cash on new energy efficient double glazing windows. They said they'd handle buying and recycling or getting rid of your old windows, but insisted it wasn’t a sales call. I guess they’re just trying to set up a meeting with a window replacement firm. Even after I said I wasn’t planning to replace windows for another couple of years, it took ages for them to get the message and eventually they just ended the call on me.
