I have no clue about this particular number; it kept coming up as spam. I chose not to pick up and have subsequently blocked it.

I've noticed that my phone seems to block any calls from unknown numbers that are silent, probably scammers trying their luck. I've already added the number to my blocked list, just to be safe!

I received a call from a woman purporting to be associated with 'my area's energy provider'. The number traced back to Carlisle, which is miles away from where I reside. Furthermore, my partner’s name is the one tied to our energy account, making it abundantly clear that this was a scam call.

I didn’t pick up as I don’t recognise anyone from Carlisle. They didn’t leave a voicemail, which suggests it’s likely inconsequential or perhaps even a scam. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

A gentleman with an Asian accent rang me up seeking to verify my name, which I declined to do. He proceeded to introduce himself as part of a telemarketing firm, claiming he had a few questions that would only take half a minute. He inquired if I read the papers. I politely responded that I had to dash off and hung up the call.

Keeps calling but never bothers to leave a message, which often suggests they aren't really a legitimate caller.

Steer clear of picking up calls from unfamiliar numbers!
