Got a call from this number telling me my Amazon account was hacked. My husband picked up but the call got dropped. When I tried ringing back, it said the number didn’t exist. Is this some kind of scam?

Got a call on my home phone today, it was one of those automated messages saying it was about my ‘Amazon Prime subscription’ and that it would ‘renew on its own unless I hit 1 to stop it’. Problem is, I don’t even have an Amazon Prime account, and even if I did, there’s no way it would be connected to my landline number. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a phone call with a robotic voice claiming to be from Amazon, warning me that a subscription costing £39.99 was going to renew soon. It told me to press "1" if I wanted to speak to an Amazon rep. Sounds like one of those typical scams trying to get you onto a premium rate line, if you ask me.
