I got the answering machine when they rang and they didn’t leave any message. Then, out of the blue, they called again really late at night with a recorded message saying it was some will writing company. Straight away I blocked their number using my call blocker. Sounds like a sneaky kind of scam where they try to grab your personal info without you noticing. My advice? Steer well clear of these lot!

Got a call yesterday around 5.15pm from a number not listed in my phonebook. They didn’t leave any voicemail, and I didn’t recognise it at all. So I looked it up online and came across this site. Seems like just another annoying robocall. I’m signed up to TPS already, so I’ll try to figure out how to block it permanently.

This number just rang me, but when I answered there was nothing said so I hung up. Also, my number’s ex-directory, so that kinda defeats the point nowadays, doesn’t it?

Got a call from this person who never gave their name and didn’t seem to know mine either. They said something like "based on your (something) we think you might need (some medical thing)." I told them I had no idea what they were on about. Then they just said sorry for disturbing me and ended the call.

Some bloke rang me, sounded quite young, saying I qualified for some kind of medical alert thingy. I guessed straight away it was dodgy and asked him who exactly he was trying to get hold of. He mumbled something about his boss giving him a list of local names. I pressed him again for who he was calling about - then nothing, just silence. Eventually, he muttered “John R?” I told him plain and simple I’m an elderly lady and definitely not John R. Without another word, he just said “have a good day” and hung up.

Here we are once more. Like always, the person on the line is clearly hanging about, hoping someone gullible will pick up, but all they get is the answerphone beep. Then they just hang up straight away. Judging by the comments I’ve seen, I’m calling this one 'harassment' for sure.

If you’re over 50, they might say you qualify for medical alert devices. They ask if you use an air conditioner too, somehow. They mentioned how older folks often have falls. Felt like a setup to push care homes on me, so I called them out as a total con.

Had no messages come through. I've ceased leaping for the phone every time it buzzes. These persistent nuisances really ought to be put in their place. Such calls are nothing short of harassment! What piques my curiosity is how they manage to acquire my number! I’m ex-directory, so it’s quite clear they’re finding a way to get it!

Some bloke rang claiming to be from Medical Alert, saying they offer bracelets and pendants for people who might fall and can't call for help. I just told him I wasn’t interested and put the phone down. Then he called again, saying the line dropped. I wasn’t convinced he was legit, so I got a bit annoyed and admitted I’m already signed up and waiting on a replacement bracelet. He didn’t sound chuffed but ended the call anyway.

This seems really sketchy to me, like a scam trying to trick older folks by promising some sort of life-saving gadget that probably won’t even work. It’s clear they just want to get your bank info. What’s worse, I’m on the TPS list so they must have got my number through dodgy means. The person calling sounded quite smooth and didn’t have an accent you’d expect from, say, India or Spain, which made it seem more legit. Honestly, I wouldn’t even engage or answer back if this number rings you!

I reckon this chap was definitely fishing for my banking info! Absolutely a scam, without a doubt. The person on the line claimed I was entitled to a free medical alert pendant and quizzed me on whether I was over the age of 50. Just a heads-up, steer clear of this number! My strong suggestion is to just give it a miss!

This bloke was really polite, telling me I could qualify for a medical alert because of my health details he said he already had. When I asked where he got that info from, he claimed it’d been shared by some official health services and that he was aware of my disability. I pressed him a bit more, and then he just said nicely, "Thanks for your time, Madam. Goodbye." I was fuming - I genuinely thought he had my personal info, but now I’m pretty sure he was just a con artist.

Got a call from a bloke asking loads of questions about me to check if I could get one of those safety pendants for free. Didn’t give him a single bit of info and ended the call straight away. The person on the phone claimed it was a free offer at first, saying that if I was eligible, their company would provide a medical alert gadget. To figure out if I qualified, they asked about my age and health. However, it soon became clear this “free” service would actually be 99p a day. When I asked how I’d pay that fee, the caller said they’d need my bank info. That’s when I decided to hang up. The caller spoke perfect, very clear English and sounded about 25 to 35 years old. I’ve flagged this as a risky call because I reckon someone more vulnerable might easily fall for it.

I got a call from someone saying he was Alex, working at a medical alert monitoring centre in Dorset - which sounded odd since the number started with 01226, a South Yorkshire code. When I asked where he got my number, he said it was from "his manager." He started asking about any medical problems I might have, supposedly to check if I’d qualify for a free device. But as we spoke, it soon became clear there’d be a monthly fee involved. I could see how an elderly or vulnerable person might get caught out by this.
