I received a call from the same number for the second time today. The first time, I let it go to voicemail and they hung up without leaving a message. This time, I decided to answer and see what the scam was. A man introduced himself as John from Estate Protection and started talking about a new law requiring homeowners to sell their homes to pay for care. When he paused, I politely asked if he had called earlier today and hung up without leaving a message. He reacted very aggressively, responding sarcastically with an "Ok goodbye, thanks for your time." I pointed out that he didn't answer my question. He asked me to repeat it, but then claimed that they hadn't called my number (which is not true). I ended the call and blocked the number, although I'm surprised that they were able to get through again since I've already blocked it before and I'm also ex-directory.

If I get a call from a number I don’t know, I usually let it go to voicemail first. Most of the time, they just hang up. Then I look up the number on here. Really appreciate this site, thank you. ❤️

Didnt pick up cause I knew the start of the number 01226666 but noticed they switched the last 3 digits from 771 to 747. Answerphone picked up but no message was left. This is getting really annoying. It honestly makes me so angry. Is there anything we can do to stop these idiots?

Care Cost Solutions rang me up chatting about new government regulations around care payments. I couldn’t get a chance to say anything because he just kept going on. Eventually, I had to cut in and tell him he was actually breaking the law by calling me since my number’s on the Telephone Preference Service. I told him to remove my number from their records and not bother calling back.

They were chatting about the price of home care and brought up Equity release, then asked me how to spell my surname. It’s really unpleasant getting these calls, especially for us older folks.

This number called saying they wanted to help me dodge care home charges 'cause of some upsetting news on the BBC. They claimed a consultant could fit me in for a quick 30-minute chat to explain how to avoid the fees. It felt like they were just reading off a script when I mentioned I was heading to hospital. Then the bloke asked, "When are you free?" I said I was tied up and he repeated, "When are you free?" Felt a bit dodgy to me.

It’s the same story over and over again, like ive seen on the news about the government forcing you to sell or whatever. What’s hilarious is they all use nearly the exact same number, just the last digit changes. You block one, then a few days later another pops up. Can’t seem to stop these annoying calls from Craig and his scam, gets really frustrating.

I got a call from a bloke who just kept banging on, sounded like he was reading off a script. He said he was with some government department. When I finally got a word in and asked where he was calling from, he mentioned South-west London but claimed his company worked all over the country. He was going on about helping folks avoid losing their homes if they needed care or something like that. Seemed pretty dodgy to me.

I got a call from a bloke who sounded like he was just reading something off a paper, never gave me a chance to say anything. He asked if someone could ring me back to chat about care home fees. I told him I’m not going into a care home and reckoned he might be trying to scam me, then I ended the call. Not a very pleasant experience, especially when you're getting older.

Some bloke called claiming he worked for some sort of estate management firm. He was telling me about how to stop my place from being sold off to cover care costs. When I asked a few questions, he just cut the call.

There is no such company called Care Costs UK Ltd in London, they're a total scam. They tried saying something about new government laws but that's all lies. I told the guy their call was against the rules and he just dropped the phone on me. What a joke!

After being abruptly called, a voice on the other end mentioned something regarding new laws. Puzzled, my wife responded, "I haven't the foggiest idea what you're babbling about,” and promptly ended the call.
