Our landline is set to block unknown numbers automatically, so I'm not sure who tried to ring. Since the caller didn’t introduce themselves, the call blocker never allowed the call to connect, meaning the phone never actually rang.

Some bloke called John rang me up from Medical Alert, saying I could get a free medical alarm pendant. I just let him go on for a bit before I jumped in and asked if he’d got my info from my doctor, without giving him anything back. He kept trying to talk over me, but I told him he wasn’t answering MY questions and warned him I’d be telling loads of people about this, including plenty of medical professionals.

They kept ringing up claiming to be from some medical alert service. The caller sounded English but when I couldn’t catch what they were saying, they just repeated the same recorded message. They asked if I use a walker or cane and about any other health problems. I wanted to know where they’d got my number from but they wouldn't tell me. Then they tried to tempt me with a free trial, which quickly turned into a 99p a day contract deal. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

Just like the others have said, he’s been pretty active this morning. When I looked at this site earlier, it was empty, no comments at all. At first, he didn’t even seem to know if I was over 50, so he clearly had no clue about me. I didn’t give him any info either, so I’m not sure where he’s getting stuff from.

This chap sounded quite polite and said something about me maybe qualifying for a free medic alert device. He asked if I was over 50. I told him no way I was over 50 and wondered why he assumed I would want or need it. After that, he just said goodbye nicely and ended the call.

A bloke called John from Medical Alert rang me, claiming I qualified for a free alarm because of my health. When I asked him where he got my details from, since that seemed like a GDPR breach, he told me it was his first day and he couldn’t connect me to a manager for more info. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from a health insurance company, telling me I qualified for a free medical pendant. When I asked how they obtained my phone number, the bloke said a supervisor hands out a list daily - sounded so fake, like a machine was talking. So I just ended the call. Feels risky considering how many folks out there could be easily fooled. There’s no way I was sharing my age with some stranger on the phone. Who even asks a woman that?! Honestly, shameful!

i got a call from someone saying their name was “john” and that they worked from dorset but offered their services all across the uk. they said i could qualify for a free “alert pendant” and asked if i was over 50. problem was, the voice didn’t sound live - it was some robotic pre-recorded message. when i asked who exactly was calling, there was a pause, then the same message played again. since i’d never heard of this company and noticed the number was actually from barnsley, not dorset, i knew something was off. spotting it was likely a scam, i just ended the call.

Got a call around 2:35 in the afternoon from someone who said he was John from a medical alert centre in Dorset, apparently looking after the UK. He asked if I used a walking stick or cane. The line kept dropping out and the connection was really bad, cutting him off a couple of times. Honestly, he sounded a bit unsure about what he was meant to be asking or doing.

Got a call from some guy named John, said he was with Medial Alert monitoring. When I questioned him how he found my number, he said his manager would be in touch later. On the morning of 12th April 2022 around 11.03am, I got a call from a bloke who said he was with some medical alert company, telling me I could qualify for a pendant thing. He started asking my details and all that. It felt a bit shady, since I hadn’t asked for the call. When I asked for his number so I could call him back, he just ended the call. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I received a rather dubious call from someone purporting to be with Fintastica Marketing, supposedly concerning Medical Pendant Services. When I inquired about how he had come across my number, he stammered that he hadn’t been with the company for long and would arrange for his manager to give me a ring instead. Pushing for more info, I asked for the company's address, and he vaguely mentioned it being somewhere in Dorset but failed to provide a specific location. He kept insisting that his manager would call me back, yet couldn’t clarify how they obtained my unlisted number. When I pointed out that it all seemed rather fishy, his response was an unconvincing, “I see, I’ll have my manager ring you back.”

I've tagged this as fraudulent because it involves a con related to Emergency Pendants. These devices aren't available for purchase through regular channels, and even if you're in possession of one, the call you're getting isn't from an authorised distributor. Pure scam, without a doubt.

I had an unexpected phone call from someone who introduced himself as John, claiming I was entitled to a medical alert service. He seemed particularly interested in my age right off the bat. Naturally, I wasn’t about to share any personal information, so I ended up hanging up on him. I imagine the next thing would have been him fishing for my card details. I wouldn’t be surprised if "John" wasn’t even his real name!

Once more, I received a call from a gentleman who insisted that I qualified for a medical alert pendant. He requested my age-or someone else's at this address, which he interestingly didn’t seem to have a clue about. I pointed out to him that, clearly, he was lacking any genuine information regarding me and therefore had no grounds to make such an assertion.
