I just got an automated call claiming to be from my internet provider, but it never actually named who they were. It warned me I was going to be cut off soon and told me to press 1 to speak to a ‘tech expert.’ Weird thing is, this came less than a minute after another call from 07533 708591 saying my Amazon Prime subscription was due for renewal at £69, and again asking me to press 1 to chat with someone. Thing is, I don’t even have Amazon Prime! Both calls are definitely scams and pretty dodgy. My advice: don’t ever press any buttons during these calls no matter what they say.

After I picked up, there was an automated voice saying my internet would be disconnected in two days and to press 1 to speak with a tech person. When I did, I ended up speaking to someone who couldn’t even tell me who my provider was but insisted they were BT and in charge of all internet services. I didn’t believe it and ended the call.
