Got a call from 01225637001 the other day, and they said they were from some insurance claims firm talking about a car accident I was apparently involved in. Problem is, I don’t even have a car! Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from this number and I’m pretty sure it’s a complete SCAM. Some bloke claimed he was from HMRC, telling me I’m going to court for some dodgy tax return. HMRC doesn’t ring you up out of the blue like that, especially not threatening legal stuff. Just hang up immediately and don’t even think about calling back!

Just a heads up, these guys keep calling back from a bunch of different numbers after you block one. They've got loads of them, some even look like local phones or mobiles. Don’t get tricked, keep blocking every single one you get, hopefully they’ll get taken down soon.

Got a call from this Indian woman named Mary claiming she was from HMRC. She said I owed £2,000 and would get arrested if I didn’t pay right away. I just told her to send the cops round and arrest me if that’s true, then she quickly ended the call.

Got a robo call a minute ago, said I or my lawyer needed to get in touch with some Derek - didn’t catch his last name - or else there’d be “legal consequences”. Haha, since when does HMRC talk like that? Sounds dodgy to me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, trying all sorts to get my bank details and personal info. They said I owed money for some tax fraud and that officers were on their way to arrest me with a warrant out. I told them to explain when this supposed fraud happened and why I hadn’t received any letters from them. The person had no answers and just ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.

This morning at 8 o’clock I saw three missed calls from a number starting with ten. I rang them back, and suddenly they started threatening me with legal action, saying I was involved in tax evasion. When I told them to stop and said I’d sort it myself, they just ended the call!

My mum got the same voicemail on her work phone, so I called them back. A bloke with an Asian accent picked up, and when I asked why they were ringing her, he was really rude and quite unprofessional. Then, out of nowhere, he just hung up on me. Received the very same message recently. I work as a police officer, so I knew straight away it’s a scam meant to scare people. HMRC doesn’t get in touch like that, and neither does the police. Got a message on my phone said it was from HMRC, warning me about some tax evasion stuff and legal trouble. I had to get in touch with a solicitor pretty quick to sort it out as they said I had limited time before things got serious. Good thing I usually ignore unknown numbers, I only listen to voicemails if they leave one. When I looked up that number online, it showed up as a risky scam call. So yeah, definitely a scammer trying to cause a panic.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and left me a message telling me to ring them back straight away. When I called, they started threatening to take my house and stuff if I didn’t answer their questions about my details and cough up £3000 fine. It scared me a bit, but I didn’t share anything except told them I’m only 17. After that, they just hung up on me! Quite funny really.

So, I got a call from a bloke called Eric around 2 this afternoon, sounded Indian and was accusing me of some big tax fraud thing. He was surprisingly convincing at first. I asked him where my official HMRC letter was and told him to prove who he really was. He messed up loads and got all defensive. Told him off for being so cheeky and then he just ended the call! Hope no one else gets caught out by him after me. I wasn’t going to let it slide, that’s for sure!

I got a recorded call warning me that HMRC were about to take legal action and to keep my solicitor ready. When I rang back, a guy with a foreign accent told me I was being prosecuted for tax fraud. He even mentioned my previous address before asking for my National Insurance number and other personal info. I told him bluntly that HMRC already have my correct details and they can get in touch if needed. He then started threatening me, saying the police would show up soon with an arrest warrant and would confiscate my home and possessions. As a lady running my own business, it was pretty intimidating. Calls like this must worry older or vulnerable people a lot and could easily cause them distress or financial loss. - Caller description: Male with foreign accent.

Was on holiday when this number rang but I ignored it. Later on, I saw a voicemail from someone claiming to be Officer Dennis Grey at HM Revenue & Customs. The message warned about some urgent matter and urged me to call 01225637001 back, saying there’d be legal trouble if neither I nor my solicitor replied. It sounded really harsh and off - I’m pretty sure no official government agency would talk like that. Figured straight away it was a scam, so I didn’t bother calling. Still, it’s quite intimidating and I reckon plenty of people might panic and get fooled by it.

It was an automated voice claiming to be from HMRC and warning her that they were going to take legal action unless she phoned them right away.
