Got a call from 01225637001 the other day, and they said they were from some insurance claims firm talking about a car accident I was apparently involved in. Problem is, I don’t even have a car! Bit fishy if you ask me.

I’ve just had a rather dubious phone call from this number, and I can confidently say it’s a SCAM. The chap on the line claimed to be from HMRC and started yammering on about court proceedings concerning an alleged fraudulent tax return. Honestly, HMRC would never ring you up and threaten you with such matters. It's simply not how they operate. I strongly advise you to hang up immediately and refrain from calling them back. Stay safe!

Just a heads up, these guys keep calling back from a bunch of different numbers after you block one. They've got loads of them, some even look like local phones or mobiles. Don’t get tricked, keep blocking every single one you get, hopefully they’ll get taken down soon.

Got a call from this Indian woman named Mary claiming she was from HMRC. She said I owed £2,000 and would get arrested if I didn’t pay right away. I just told her to send the cops round and arrest me if that’s true, then she quickly ended the call.

Got a robo call a minute ago, said I or my lawyer needed to get in touch with some Derek - didn’t catch his last name - or else there’d be “legal consequences”. Haha, since when does HMRC talk like that? Sounds dodgy to me!

Got the same message, totally a scam as far as I'm concerned. Still, I bet a few people could fall for their "urgent phone problem" rubbish. Absolute scammers, those lot.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, trying all sorts to get my bank details and personal info. They said I owed money for some tax fraud and that officers were on their way to arrest me with a warrant out. I told them to explain when this supposed fraud happened and why I hadn’t received any letters from them. The person had no answers and just ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.

Received three calls from a number around 8 o'clock this morning; quite unusual! I returned the call and the chap on the other end started throwing around accusations about tax evasion. I tried to defend myself, but he abruptly cut me off! Quite the nerve, if you ask me!

I received the exact same voicemail on my mother's business number. When I returned the call, an Asian gentleman picked up. As I began to inquire about the purpose of their call, he displayed an utter lack of professionalism and was quite rude. Eventually, he hung up on me without a word. It’s clearly someone attempting to pull a fast one - the number was 01225637001.

Received a similar text myself. As a serving constable, I brushed it off since it's clearly a scam meant to intimidate folks. Just a heads up - HMRC never reaches out in such a manner, nor do the police. I strongly advise against ringing that number back; you could end up with a hefty phone bill. - Caller: 01225637001

I received a rather alarming voicemail purportedly from HMRC, making dire threats about possible legal repercussions for tax evasion. They insisted that I and my solicitor should promptly ring them back, citing a tight deadline before facing prosecution. Fortuitously, I never pick up calls from unfamiliar numbers. If it's important, they'll ensure they leave a message, won't they? Naturally, I took to Google and discovered that the number in question was flagged as a potential scam. Quite the dodgy caller, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and left me a message telling me to ring them back straight away. When I called, they started threatening to take my house and stuff if I didn’t answer their questions about my details and cough up £3000 fine. It scared me a bit, but I didn’t share anything except told them I’m only 17. After that, they just hung up on me! Quite funny really.

Got a robo call saying it’s from HMRC, telling me to ring them back and probably trying to get my bank info. Honestly, if HMRC needed to reach me, they’d send a proper letter through the post, not some dodgy automated message. Avoid calling back!

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were from HMRC, claiming there was an urgent problem and I had to ring them back immediately or I'd be in serious legal trouble. Total scam, no doubt. Best to ignore and put the number straight on block.

So, I got a call from a bloke called Eric around 2 this afternoon, sounded Indian and was accusing me of some big tax fraud thing. He was surprisingly convincing at first. I asked him where my official HMRC letter was and told him to prove who he really was. He messed up loads and got all defensive. Told him off for being so cheeky and then he just ended the call! Hope no one else gets caught out by him after me. I wasn’t going to let it slide, that’s for sure!

I received an automated phone call with an alarming message regarding imminent action from HMRC, instructing me to have my solicitor ready. When I called back, a gentleman with a non-British accent informed me that I was facing court proceedings for tax evasion and fraud. He bizarrely recounted my previous address and demanded my National Insurance number along with other personal information. I firmly declined, reminding him that HMRC already possessed my current details and could reach out through official channels if needed. His tone was quite menacing, as he insisted that the police would be at my door shortly with an arrest warrant, ready to confiscate my home and possessions. As a seasoned businesswoman, I found this interaction rather unsettling. It’s particularly distressing to think that such calls target older and more vulnerable individuals, potentially leading to enormous stress and financial loss. - Caller: Male with a foreign accent.

I received a phone call from this number while I was away on my break, so I chose not to pick up. The voicemail was quite alarming, stating, "This matter is of utmost urgency. This is Officer Dennis Grey from HM Revenue & Customs. You can reach my office at 01225637001. It's crucial that you do not ignore this message and return the call. Should we not hear from you or your solicitor, prepare yourself for potential legal action. Farewell and take care." No legitimate government official would ever communicate in such a manner, so I quickly recognised it as a scam and refrained from returning the call. It was very intimidating and off-putting, though I can imagine others might panic and ring back out of fear.

I received the same call, along with a voicemail left behind. It's clearly a scam, considering HMRC never reaches out like this. Didn't bother returning the call-just blocked the number instead. If I'd picked up, it would have been a quick "not today" for that caller! The number was 01225367001.
