To the new PM, can you please do something about these awful scammers and put a stop to them? I just got one saying ‘you’ve won some US lottery or whatever’ - like seriously, who falls for that nonsense?!

Today, my elderly mother-in-law got a ring from 01225 630189, where a chap claiming to be "Brian" insisted she’d hit the jackpot in the Lottery! It was obviously a dodgy scheme since she doesn't even play. Thankfully, she had the sense to cut him off, and nothing untoward occurred.

Got a call from 01225630189 yesterday about winning £500,000 in a lottery. They said I had 24 days to get back to them, but the voice sounded really like an automated message, so I just ignored it and deleted the voicemail.

Got a call from some sort of lottery scam. The voice was all automated and kept telling me to hit 1 so they could start chatting. Total con artists, definitely a scam!!!

Got a call that was flagged as spam and it got blocked automatically.

Thankfully, I wasn’t home at the time, but it rang through to voicemail. Just like a few others mentioned, they claimed I’d won £500,000. It’s proper scary how some folks might actually believe that!

Got a message on my voicemail from some robotic American guy saying I’d won £500,000. Sure, like that’s gonna happen :) They left an overseas number to ring back. Total scam, no doubt. With more than 3000 people already checking this number out, they're definitely not handing out any cash!

Got a call from 01225630189 yesterday morning and again at 11 o’clock today, Wednesday 6 July 2022.

So I got this automated call saying I won £200k in some US lottery. Thing is, I never even entered that lottery, so there’s no way it’s real. Pretty obvious it’s a scam. They’re just trying to get your personal info, so best to ignore it completely.
