I'm a bit baffled as to who that caller was.

The caller claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but their accent was so thick I couldn’t catch a word properly! My phone flagged the number as spam, but I figured I’d hear them out. The number showed it was from Bath, but it really felt more like a call centre than a local shop.

We got a call on our work number from someone who said he was with Carphone Warehouse, trying to push new phones with unlimited plans. He mentioned it didn’t matter if our current contracts were still active. We told him we were fine with our existing deals but he kept pushing, even though it was hard to understand him cause his English wasn’t great. Eventually, I just hung up.

Got a call from what looked like Carphone Warehouse or something like that. Seemed legit at first but turned out not to be. Pretty suspicious.

Kept going on about some damage to my property that I was supposed to report. Complete scam, no doubt. They called me like 7 times in just five minutes, really annoying.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent pretending to be from O2’s promo team, offering a special discount on landline deals. He rang my mobile and then sent me a one-time code to my phone. Even though all the warnings said not to share it, he kept insisting I give it to him, claiming it was a one-off thing. After a bit of back and forth, I decided to do a reverse search on the number and found it was actually coming from northern India, not Bath as the caller ID showed. Heads up - this number changes a lot, so my advice is just to hang up or ignore it altogether.

I just had a rather dodgy phone call from a character named Seth, claiming to be from the House Disrepair Department! Quite clearly a scam, I simply brushed him off as per usual, hung up, and promptly blocked the number.

It’s baffling why nothing seems to be in place to put a stop to these nuisance calls. I can't help but wish I had the expertise and technology to flip the script and put an end to these irritating con artists once and for all.

Definitely a bogus call pretending to be from British Gas.

Got a call from someone saying they were from EE, asking if I’d ordered a tablet. They asked for my DOB and somehow already knew my email. When I said I’d check with my phone company to see if it was real, they got really annoyed. There was loads of noise in the background and people laughing, so I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell me an iPhone 13 for just £45 a month. Thing is, the phone hasn’t even come out yet! They also promised me next day delivery through DPD, saying it would be on my doorstep tomorrow. Sounds like a proper scam to me!

This was defo one of those sketchy call centres, probably from India or Pakistan. Sometimes they’re just checking your number to add it to their spam lists, other times they’re trying to push you energy or phone deals on commission, or worst case - trying to scam info from your bank cards. Stay careful with these calls!

Seemed rather full of themselves, claiming to be from an energy provider. Just hang up and move on.

What a dodgy situation! They called claiming to be from British Gas, insisting our contract was on the verge of expiring and offered to sort out a renewal via phone. The catch? Our contract still has a solid two years left on it! Quite the cheeky con, if you ask me!

Be careful, got a call today from someone claiming to be O2 - total scam! Never give out any O2 account info to callers like that.

A caller purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse rang me up, insisting they had the finest offer on a shiny new mobile. When I started responding with a bit of silliness instead of taking them seriously, they became rather irked and even went so far as to say they could remotely lock my device - which is quite impossible, really! Quite a bizarre encounter, I must say.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, but the line was really bad and hard to make out, with a thick Asian accent. I don’t have any connection to Carphone Warehouse at all. It was a random call, so I told them not to call me again and then ended the call.

Got a missed call from this number earlier. Then, just now, found out someone tried to hack into my Google account without permission. The number doesn’t show up on any of my contacts but somehow appeared in my Google account’s call history. Figured it must be connected. I’ve changed all my passwords now. The phone I used was an old OnePlus 5 I keep for burner calls. No clue about any IP address or anything like that.

This number has rung me twice now. The person claimed to be from a company working with Microsoft, saying my computer was hacked. I didn’t share any details because I was suspicious of the call. They said they’d ring back around 4pm today. Fingers crossed I can figure out more. Something odd I noticed is that although they said they’re based in London, the area code matches Carlisle.
