I received a call from this number yesterday, dated 04/08/17. The individual claimed to be representing the Telephone Preference Service. They seemed rather pleased to inform me that I supposedly hadn't received any nuisance calls (!) and then proceeded to inquire about my address and direct debit information. Naturally, I decided it was best to terminate the call.

The bloke called himself Steve, but honestly, he didn’t sound like it to me. When I questioned him, he claimed he was from some call preference service. I just told him, “Nice try, but you’re having a laugh!” He seemed confused and said “I don’t understand, Madam.” I fired back, “Oh, I think you do.” Then he offered me some free service - yeah, right! I said, “Free? Come off it, no one gives anything away for nothing.” We ended up having a proper argument, insults flying in Gujarati. Never underestimate a woman who speaks the lingo! Haha, got him good.

They claim they'll tackle those pesky nuisance calls. I hung up, to be honest.

If everyone could just head over to the ICO site and lodge a complaint about this number, it’d help. Hopefully, the networks will step in and block it for good then.

Received a call around 2 PM today. When I picked up, there was a brief pause followed by a vague 'hello' and then silence. The person on the other end cursed, hung up, and I subsequently unplugged my landline. Strange encounter, really.

Received a call around 2pm today. I picked up, but there was a peculiar silence on the other end. Eventually, someone mumbled a distant “hello.” That was the extent of the conversation before some choice words were uttered, and they abruptly hung up. I've since disconnected the landline.

The person on the line claimed his name was Stephen, but it was clear he didn’t sound like a Brit. The call quality was shocking, much like you’d expect from a dodgy international line, and it seemed to be using the local Bath area code to disguise its true nature. He went on to inquire about my phone bills and whether I was the one settled with the payments. When he mentioned that my credit card was nearing its expiry date, I simply hung up. I doubt the number 01225 346464 is genuinely where he’s calling from.

Got a call saying it was from the Telephone Preference Service - total scam! Don’t trust it.

Some bloke named Steve, sounded like he was from abroad, gave me a ring about TPS. He kept cutting me off and speaking like I was daft. Proper rude the way he acted. Then he tries asking me for cash for something that’s supposed to be free! Honestly, it was a bit of a shock.

Just like a few others have said, the caller said they were from the TPS and asked me to confirm my name, address and postcode. Then they started asking about my credit card expiry date, which felt wrong, so I ended the call straight away.

I received a call labelled as "International" from this number. I picked up, but all I encountered was dead air. About an hour later, another call came in from 01582249923, which also appeared as "International." This time, I chose not to answer.

Today, this number tried ringing me four times, but luckily BT Call Protect stopped them all. I'm really grateful to this website for the details it gave me, which made me realise it was a scam and helped me block the number right away.

Got three calls from these jokers today. The initial one claimed to be from the UK government's Telephone Preference Management Service, saying they block foreign calls. Somehow, the chat turned to them asking for my credit card info, which I flat out refused. They seemed to lose interest right then, but they still rang me two more times. Honestly, it’s such a dumb scam I don’t think it’s truly dangerous. If you’re not in a hurry, try to keep them talking for ages - it might stop them pestering someone who might actually fall for it and give away their bank details.

I've had a bunch of calls today and each time I answered, there was just silence. Then at last someone spoke, saying they were from the TPS. But they couldn’t even get simple words from my address right, which made me suspicious. I didn’t stick around long enough to catch them asking for bank info, but honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if that was the case.

These calls have been getting nastier and quite rude, which really bothered my missus, so I ended up getting a call blocker. I went for a BT8610 and honestly, it’s been great. Had it running for four days now and haven’t had a single annoying call since. It even caught the number 01225346464 straight away and now that one’s on my blocked list.

At first, it popped up as an overseas number. I picked up and got the usual pushy spiel about TPS not working and needing to verify my info. I told them I wasn’t sharing anything unless they gave me a proper number. Then I just said bye and ended the call. Right after, about 5 seconds later, the number 01225346464 rang me.

Got a call from some woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from telephone preference. She was pretty pushy wanting my card info. When I asked a few questions, she just talked over me, so I ended up hanging up. Then the phone rang again immediately afterwards.

Peter wanted me to give him both details because apparently his info was wrong and needed fixing. I asked why he needed them since the service didn’t cost anything, and he said it was to check the account which was why the service stopped working. When I said no, he began yelling at me on the phone. So rude! After he finished ranting, I asked him nicely to stop shouting, but he just talked over me and raised his voice again. I told him I could shout back just as easily. Eventually, I hung up while he carried on shouting and complaining.

I got a call from someone claiming to be “tps” who wanted to verify some credit card info to make sure they had the right person. When I said I wasn’t going to share any card or direct debit details with them, they suddenly got annoyed and just ended the call.

They rang me a couple of times just a few minutes apart. My partner answered the first one and said the connection was terrible, couldn’t make out what they were trying to say. He added that if it was some phone-related sales call, we were quite content with our current provider. When I got the second call, I just stayed quiet like I usually do with cold callers and let them hang up first.

Speaking for my elderly parents here, mum got cut off by them 4 times. They claimed my mum’s card was expiring and wanted her card details. She said her daughter sorts all that out and asked them for a number so she could call back. They hung up, but we grabbed their number by dialling 1471. When they rang again, the call started with a message about nuisance calls. Mum said, “Yes, you lot are exactly that.” Even so, they kept ringing another 3 times after that.

beware of calls claiming to be from the telephone preference service - it’s just a trick to get your card info. if you answer, just say they ought to be embarrassed and then put the phone down.

They’ve phoned me up three times today, all asking if I’m still getting loads of telemarketer calls. Each time I've told them to get lost and quit wasting my time with their scams. The last bloke even called back and started having a go at me for hanging up on them. Looks like I really got under his skin. :)

I got a call from a lady speaking with an accent that wasn’t local, saying she could help block nuisance calls. I told her straight away that I’m registered on the telephone preference service, so she really shouldn’t be calling me. She didn’t really respond to that, just kept saying she could stop all the nuisance calls. Strange thing was, later I checked and the call actually came from Bath, England, not abroad as I initially thought. Even after I told her I wasn’t interested, she kept going and it got pretty frustrating!
