Received a phone call purporting to be from the Call Protection Service, aggressively requesting my debit card information. The caller was incredibly insistent. Definitely a scam!

I've blocked the number but they keep ringing anyway! Honestly, I'm thinking of reporting them to Action Fraud and I'd definitely recommend anyone else dealing with this to do the same.

The phone rang at 9:15 this morning, but like always, no message was left on my answering machine by whoever called. Typical behaviour from these sort of callers.

Got a call from an asian bloke saying “good morning Mrs” and even used my proper surname, but i’m not a Mrs. Told him to piss off and ended the call. Now he’s blocked.

i've had about five calls from them now, pretty sure it's a scam.

I ended up just putting the phone down.

I received an astonishing six calls yesterday, almost clockwork each hour. My phone’s set to answer, yet they don’t bother leaving any messages. It’s quite maddening! Upon reflection, they've actually rung me a staggering 23 times over the past week alone. Do they persistently try to get through, or have they taken a peculiar liking to my number?

Got a call from a bloke with an asian accent who said it was about the telephone preference service. He reckoned my debit card expired and he needed to update my details. I told him I was tied up and ended the call, but the mad thing is he ringed me again straight after! Proper cheeky!

Got a call from some woman called Hayley - she said she was with a firm that could help me block annoying calls. Honestly, I found it pretty funny. I just told her nicely to jog on. I’m sure Hayley or her mates will ring again, seen as they’ve already phoned me like four times within an hour. Definitely putting them on the block list.

So this number kept ringing me a few times, like three calls with no msg left. When i finally picked up on the fourth try, as it sounded a bit like family from bristol, i just said hello. Nothing back, just silence and then they just hung up. probs realised i aint got any cash lol.

someone phoned me saying they were from the telephone preference service but it sounded a bit off to me. seemed like a scam, so i didn’t trust them. watch out for calls pretending to be tps, probably just trying to get your info!

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, said my TPS contract was about to end today. He asked me to confirm my sort code and only the first 7 digits of my account number to renew it. I wasn't comfortable with that at all and told him no way.

So this guy Mike from Telephone Preference Services, who claimed he’d put a stop to annoying sales calls, rang me up. I asked why he was still on the phone if he was meant to be blocking them, but he just kept quiet and didn’t reply.

I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was calling on behalf of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). He asked if I was still dealing with annoying calls - well, yeah, obviously I am. The weird thing is, the number showing was an Aberdeen area code, but I reckon it might be from offshore in Scotland. Bit fishy if you ask me.

same here. told the lady the easiest way to end these annoying calls was to just hang up. she got really rattled when i said hang on while i turned on my call recorder and fired up my reverse phone search tool. she kept saying she’d need to check my details with her manager. yeah, sure. i wasn’t about to let her get away with it - had no interest in wasting more time. way better than shouting at them on the phone!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to work for the telephone preference service. Seriously, why do these callers get away with bothering folks like this without any penalties?

Like others have said, this call was from an Indian bloke claiming to be from TPS, asking if I'd received any pest calls recently. When I answered "no", he just hung up straight away.

Got a call from an asian guy about annoying calls, then suddenly started asking for my debit card details. When I questioned why he needed that, he said it was because my protection against nuisance calls was about to expire. I told him I wasn’t familiar with his number, and he said he’d ring me again later.

I wasn't familiar with the number, so I chose not to pick up. It just stopped ringing once the voicemail kicked in.
