I got a call from a number that seemed to be from India, and the person said they were from the Telephone Preference Service. They asked me for my debit card info to 'renew' some sort of subscription. Honestly, it's a total scam! Don’t even entertain them - just hang up, block the number, and let your mates know so they don’t fall for it either.

They claimed to be from some “telephone preference management company” and asked if I was receiving any cold calls. I told them, “Yeah, like this one now. The real telephone preference service handles cold calls properly, and it sounds like you’re just pretending with a name like that to confuse people.” Then they just hung up on me.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was "Jennifer" and that she was ringing from something called "Telephone Preference Management". She wanted me to give her my personal info and threatened that if I didn’t, she'd "report me to the police for breaking data protection rules". Total scam, no doubt. I told her to wait a sec while I grabbed my debit card, then blasted this screeching YouTube video on my iPad down the line over and over till she finally gave up and hung up. Pretty sure that’s the last time they'll bother me! Haha.

I had a very similar call. The voice seemed Indian, and the call quality was really bad. They started mentioning the "telephone preference service" before I decided to just hang up.

some bloke from india rang me, claiming his name was "michael watson" and said he was with telephone preferential management. he kept going on and on, pressurein me to verify all my info. sounded dodgy to me, so i gave him a earful till he finally gave up and ended the call.

Received a barrage of six calls within just an hour and a half. I answered each time, yet there was nothing but silence on the other end. How infuriating!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent who kept asking if I was older or younger than 85. When I questioned why it mattered, he said my phone line might’ve been hacked. Then he asked who my provider was, and when I told him, he just said it didn’t matter, claimed it affected all providers. Total scam right there.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the telephone preference service. I decided to humour them for a bit. They kept asking when my debit card expired and if the name on the card was the one on the bottom. I gave them a made-up date and name. When they pushed for my account number, I told them to buzz off and ended the call. They rang right back quickly, insisting they were legit, but I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.
