I was pondering whether this could be an acquaintance from my days in publishing, or perhaps some distant relatives who once made their way to Scotland many years ago, or even descendants of Scottish unions who stayed back in England. To be honest, I'm quite baffled as to who this phone number belongs to. Initially, when I attempted to return the call, I was met with a brief message that didn't allow me to leave a voicemail. However, when I tried again later, I was greeted with a voicemail service-quite peculiar, if you ask me! No one has got back to me yet, which adds to the strangeness of the situation. I assumed the charges would be the usual rates, not the inflated ones mentioned for returning missed calls.
