About seven hours back, I got a call where they kept saying I’d been in a car crash, which was totally not true.

A couple of posts down explain ways to help put a stop to these scams and why just blocking the calls might not be enough. Reporting them doesn’t take any longer than posting here. It might not fix the problem straight away, but right now the police don’t have a clue about how widespread this mess really is or the newest tricks these scammers use. Unless everyone who gets these annoying calls and messages reports them and complains to their local MP, it’s unlikely anything will be done to stop these crooks.
