A South Asian woman called saying she was from O2 and claimed she could reduce my monthly phone bill by 40% if I gave her the One Time Code (OTC) that came via SMS during the call. She told me she couldn’t verify any of my personal details until I shared the OTC. My Android flagged the number as "Spam." But if you give out the OTC, you’re basically letting them mess with your account and could end up with unexpected charges. This is clearly a SCAM and very risky.

Got a call from an Asian guy who definitely seemed to be calling from his house, judging by the background noise. He claimed he was ringing about my internet service with O2, but I don’t even use O2. The number showed up in red on my phone, so I just blocked it straight away. Checked the number here and turns out he’s another foreign scammer operating out of Aberdeen. They’re popping up all over the place now! Cheers, gov, for letting this happen.

I've received a handful of calls from this particular number, which took me aback since our flight to Aberdeen was scrapped that day and I hadn't shared my contact details with anyone. I almost picked up the phone but let it slip, and after a good few attempts on their part, they seemed to give up and never rang me again. They then asked for my postcode and to verify my address, followed by a request for my email. I told them EE already have that info, and they insisted the promotions team didn’t. I got a call from someone named ‘Tom’ using this number claiming to be from ‘EE Network’. He had a strong Indian accent and seemed quite uncertain when talking. It’s definitely a scam, and the number is made to appear like it’s from Aberdeen. Apparently, they switch numbers regularly, maybe every month, as other sites have been warning about this since August. The whole thing feels like they’re trying to rip you off or get your personal details. EE have been informed about these scams, so be careful.
