I received a call from "Simon" on 01135252124, inquiring if I was the property owner. He was quite keen to discuss the prospect of installing solar panels. I politely declined his offer. Strangely enough, later that same day, "Simon" rang me again from the same number, repeating his sales spiel. I pointed out that we had already spoken and, just like that, the call ended abruptly.

Got a call about 10 minutes ago, same old postcode lottery chat, loads of discounts, holiday apartments and all that, plus they said £390 would be sent to my account, just needed my email and bank info. Told them it was a load of rubbish, the guy with an Indian accent just laughed, thanked him sarcastically and hung up. Even though they already have your name, phone and address, giving them more info could let them open accounts or use your identity in scams. Got a call from 01224015315 claiming to be from the postcode lottery. When I told them to stop calling and take my number off their list, they flat out refused a few times. So I just ended the call.

I received a call from someone who inquired if I was Mr. xxxxx, which happens to be my partner's surname. When I replied that I was not, and probed for their identity, they abruptly ended the call. This gent has tried to reach me on multiple occasions, including leaving a message on my answering machine, but oddly enough, there was never any actual message left. They had a distinctly foreign accent, which made the whole interaction rather peculiar.

I got a call about some PPI refund, and they already had my address, which seemed odd. The woman on the line, called “Caroline”, wanted my bank details and when I questioned where they found my info, she just ended the call straight away. Definitely don’t share anything with them and block the number. The area code looks like it’s from the UK but the calls are routed through a call centre in India.

Sounds like one of those classic scams that might trick older folks who trust too easily. Luckily, the caller’s English was really poor, so there’s no way it’s connected to any legitimate UK lottery. Honestly, that number ought to be blocked straight away.

Got a call from 01224 015 315, some Chinese woman saying I'd got a rebate from HMRC. She wanted my account details to sort the payment. I kept asking why HMRC would owe me anything. After about 5 mins, she just hung up. Honestly, HMRC don’t call you about rebates. Never share your info with people like that!

I just got a call from a guy with a thick accent, seemed Asian, asking for a Mrs Roger. Then he started saying my son's name, but clearly got it wrong. He kept going on about me being chosen randomly for some kind of discount card worth 399, which I took to be pounds, not pence, that could apparently be used in shops and places to eat. When I asked what info he needed, he just said he didn’t want to know anything but needed to check if I was over 18 and asked my age. I told him no way and hung up straight away.

Earlier today, I had a rather suspicious phone call from the number 01224015315. The caller attempted to fish for my banking information under the guise of informing me that I was selected for a £399 payout. It was quite evident to me that they were attempting to scam me right from the outset. I decided to humour them for a good quarter of an hour, only to eventually reveal that I was fully aware of their deceitful game. I told them that they ought to hang their heads in shame for preying on unsuspecting individuals.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an accent I couldn’t place, she wanted me to say if it was the right person. Instead of saying yes, I asked her who she was, and she just hung up straight away. Decided to check the number and here I am! Whoever passed on my number really did them dirty! Karma’s got a funny way of coming back around...

Got a call from someone saying they were with the "Postcode Lottery Dept" - whatever that is?! The person had a strong Indian accent and clearly had no clue about how UK addresses work. They said they could give me a discount card with up to 50% off in shops, supermarkets like Tesco and stuff. Tried calling back the number, but it just said "service cannot be connected". I’ve just had a rather puzzling phone call from a gentleman whose accent made him quite difficult to understand. He was inquiring about my husband, using his first name, but then he blundered my son's name completely. He insisted that I had been randomly selected to receive a discount card supposedly valued at £399, which I presumed was in pounds, not pence. According to him, it could be used in various shops and eateries. When I pressed him for more information, he claimed he wasn’t interested in any details but needed me to confirm I was over 18. When he asked for my age, I firmly replied with a no and promptly cut the call. Quite an odd encounter, to say the least!

Then they passed me to a "supervisor" who asked for my sort code and bank details, saying they were going to send £399 into my account. Total scam, obviously. Got two calls today. The first one was from someone with an Asian accent and a really long name, couldn't catch much else. The second call sounded like a British bloke, but the only thing I clearly heard was "department". Both felt a bit iffy, reckon it was some kind of scam.

Got a call from a woman with what sounded like a Chinese accent, saying she worked for HMRC tax and could pay me out for a PPI claim from 2008. She asked for my bank details, so I just made up some random numbers. Then she said the sort code wasn’t valid and passed me on to her boss. He also had a Chinese accent and kept asking about the sort code. I played along and kept him chatting for about five minutes till I lost interest. Then I told him HMRC has nothing to do with PPI claims, accused him of being a scammer, and ended the call.
