They claimed they were from Openreach, part of BT. The moment I mentioned I don’t use BT, they just cut the call. It did sound like the call was coming from a noisy call centre, so it felt pretty real.

I got a call telling me there was some dodgy charge on my Barclaycard and they said to press 1 to block it. I just hung up straight away and checked my online Barclaycard account - nothing unusual showing. Definitely a scam caller. Number was 01223935979.
