Complete pointless call.

Having my phone flagging them as a likely scammer, I kept getting calls about loft insulation. The calls came over and over again, which was really annoying.

So on 15th May 2025 I got a call about loft insulation, they said something like "our records indicate..." and all that. I asked them where they got their info from, and then the caller just vanished. I reckon a good tactic is just to keep asking questions until they realise you ain’t buying it. Honestly, who’d want to deal with these lot when they kick off with a straight-up fib?

Seeing all the varied comments like timeshare, consumer help, train fares, or loft insulation, I reckon this might be a call centre, maybe located overseas, so it sounds like a scam to me. I always avoid picking up numbers I don’t recognise and since they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, it just adds to the feeling that it’s dodgy.

I picked up thinking it was a personal call, but as soon as I answered, the caller hung up. Turns out it was a number from my work, not a private phone or landline. Quite odd really.

Today at around 16:53, I got this voicemail from a bloke asking whether I’d set up to get loft insulation done. I reckon it must be some kind of scam, especially since I don’t even have a loft in my house!

Got a call where a recorded voice claimed to be from my bank, saying they needed to verify a payment made with my card for a train ticket to Edinburgh. They wanted me to press certain buttons to confirm, or else I’d be put through to the City police. Definitely felt off. They never actually mentioned which bank or gave any part of the card number. Pretty sure it wasn’t legit.

I've been bombarded with calls from this anonymous number for ages now. Just this morning, a woman named "Georgina" claimed to ring from the "Consumer Alert Centre." When I pressed her for more information about this so-called centre, she hung up in a jiffy.

I can't shake the feeling that this is yet another attempt at a timeshare compensation con, given my prior encounters with similar dodgy schemes.

Someone phoned saying they were from the consumer alert centre, really polite and told me to watch out for loads of fraudsters, especially a firm named Osborne Clerk. They asked if I was satisfied with CLC, which we are. Then they said sorry for bothering me and ended the call. I decided to check the number afterwards. So, who's actually scamming who here?!

Got a call out of the blue, and my phone app flagged it as possibly a scam. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

So this lot said they’re some kind of timeshare consultancy, going on about how Hilton Vacation Club took over Diamond Resorts. They tried to convince us that because we used to own a timeshare, we still owe maintenance fees, even though we don’t have anything to do with it anymore. Then they asked for payment upfront to their lawyers so they could handle the case. We kept saying we didn’t want any part of it, but they just wouldn’t back off.

It's really annoying! They kept calling me every few minutes, like every 5 minutes or so. When I finally picked up, they just ended the call right away.

I got a call from 01223 931025 today. The person said his name was Luke and mentioned something like “….. Alliance”, but I couldn’t quite hear the whole name. He started talking about some “holiday contract” I supposedly have. When I asked for more details, he just cut the call straight away.

Beware of this caller-it’s a scam! I’d strongly advise against ringing them back, as the initial minute will set you back 15 pence, and the rate skyrockets from there. Just avoid engaging with them altogether to keep your money safe.

I’m at a bit of a loss regarding these chaps who rang me. Upon picking up, they asserted I’d been involved in a car crash not long ago. Naturally, I pushed back with a few questions, only to be met with the utterly unconvincing remark that he was merely carrying out his duties. Now, let me clarify: I've never been in a car accident, largely because I don't actually drive. Unless I find myself in the back of a cab, that's just not in the cards for me. And honestly, what business is it of theirs in the first place? Quite baffling, if you ask me!
