Like with other calls I've had, a bloke with an Asian accent pretended to be from my energy company saying there was an issue with meter readings. So I rang my actual energy provider and they said they hadn’t tried to get in touch with me at all. I've blocked the number, reported them, and told the guy to quit calling - he’s phoned me four times in only a couple of days! I know it’s definitely a scam but once you pick up their call, it seems they just won’t stop bothering you. Honestly, these scam calls are driving me mad.

They insisted they were from EDF and began requesting far too much personal information, alleging that an erroneous bill was on its way which we shouldn't pay any mind to. Shortly after, they started probing for our address, meter numbers and the like. They've already rung us three times, which is quite irritating!

I received a rather dubious call from someone purporting to be associated with EON NEXT, who insisted that my recent bill had errors due to a postcode confusion. They were keen to gather information from my previous statements, which struck me as rather odd. I informed them that I would prefer to reach out to EON directly using the business number I already possessed. The caller then mentioned I’d be stuck waiting for over half an hour and offered to ring me back that same day, still insisting on getting the info promptly. I told him I didn’t have those details to hand and would much rather verify things on my own terms.

Got a call from a woman speaking English with a really thick Asian accent, saying she was from Opus Energy. She was on about a problem with my MPAN number messing up the meter reading. Then she just hung up out of the blue. A minute later, she rang back, sounding annoyed and wanted to talk to whoever's in charge of the electricity supply here. Well, it just so happens that’s me. With all these energy firms collapsing lately, I'm not surprised these scam artists are popping up more often. Absolute muppets, the lot of them.

I received a call from a woman with a pronounced Asian accent, purporting to represent Opus Energy. She stated that there was some sort of mix-up with my MPAN number, which was apparently impacting my meter readings. After a brief chat, she abruptly hung up, only to ring back, clearly frustrated, insisting on speaking to the individual in charge of the electricity supply. Unfortunately for her, that happened to be me. Considering the current turmoil within the energy sector, it seems we can anticipate an influx of these unsavoury characters emerging from their hiding places. It’s a right shoddy lot, to say the least.

Like others have mentioned, they claimed we’d been billed too much. They even emailed me a code which looked quite legit, to be honest. However, something about the whole affair felt off. So, I decided to ring EDF directly, and lo and behold, they assured me it was indeed a SCAM!

It seems we encountered a rather dubious situation with a supposed representative from the British Gas metering team. They attempted to extract details from our invoices after claiming that their meter reader recorded a reading from an entirely different meter and linked it to our account. To make matters worse, they provided us with a residential postcode that had nothing to do with our business! When we pressed them for proof of their affiliation with British Gas, we were transferred to a series of individuals, none of whom could furnish us with any pertinent information specific to our account-everything they offered was merely accessible via Companies House. Naturally, we've escalated this issue to British Gas directly. It appears they may have been attempting to shift our account to their own service!

Received a call earlier today from a bloke purporting to be from EON, stating that the electricity to three of our locations would be shut off at noon and remain disconnected until Friday. He insisted that in order to set up a temporary supply, he needed our supply number along with a few personal details. I asked him to ring me again at 11am while I investigated the matter further. Unsurprisingly, he hasn't called back, and after ringing our energy company, they've assured me it’s all a scam.

I received a call from someone purporting to represent Scottish Power, who requested my gas meter MPRN number. They mentioned a supposed issue with their system that prevented them from registering the readings. The caller was quite adamant about needing the MPRN. However, it's worth noting that we aren't even customers of Scottish Power when it comes to gas supplies.

I’ve been receiving numerous calls from this number, purporting to be from British Gas, claiming that our contract has come to an end. They insisted that I prepare a bill for them to review some options. When I mentioned that we don’t even use gas, they quickly shifted their story to electricity. They repeated part of our MPAN code and asked for the top section, which I flatly refused to provide. Their accents were questionable-not quite English-and it was quite challenging to grasp what they were saying. I requested that they send me an email for further clarification, but they claimed that wasn’t possible. They seem incredibly dodgy, so I suggest keeping a good distance from them. I've already blocked their number.

Had a rather dodgy call purportedly from British Gas recently. The chap had a strong Indian accent and went on about "issues with your account" and how "the postcode was incorrectly entered in our system." Now, mind you, we diligently submit our meter readings online every month, so there’s absolutely no chance of any billing mishaps. I must say, this isn't the first time either - I’ve experienced similar calls four times in just the last couple of months. They attempt to intimidate you by claiming you'll be hit with a hefty bill if you don't act fast. Quite the nuisance, that!
