Got a ring from this number today. The voice had a thick Indian accent and was asking for info about when our tariff ends and the details on our latest bill. They said something about our meter readings being confused with another person's. Pretty sure it was a scam, dodgy behaviour for sure!

Like with other calls I've had, a bloke with an Asian accent pretended to be from my energy company saying there was an issue with meter readings. So I rang my actual energy provider and they said they hadn’t tried to get in touch with me at all. I've blocked the number, reported them, and told the guy to quit calling - he’s phoned me four times in only a couple of days! I know it’s definitely a scam but once you pick up their call, it seems they just won’t stop bothering you. Honestly, these scam calls are driving me mad.

Got calls saying they were from EDF, saying our bill was wrong and to just ignore it. Then they started asking for loads of details like our address and meter numbers. They've phoned us three times already now.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from EON NEXT, saying there had been a mistake on my last bill because of a postcode error. They asked for info from my earlier bills. It all sounded a bit dodgy, so I told them I'd ring EON on the official business number I had instead. They said I'd probably be on hold for more than half an hour, promised to call me back, and wanted the details that very day. I told them I didn’t have the info and preferred to sort it out myself directly.

Got a call from a woman speaking English with a really thick Asian accent, saying she was from Opus Energy. She was on about a problem with my MPAN number messing up the meter reading. Then she just hung up out of the blue. A minute later, she rang back, sounding annoyed and wanted to talk to whoever's in charge of the electricity supply here. Well, it just so happens that’s me. With all these energy firms collapsing lately, I'm not surprised these scam artists are popping up more often. Absolute muppets, the lot of them.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a heavy Asian accent, saying she was from Opus Energy. Like others have mentioned, she said there was something wrong with the MPAN number linked to my electric meter. After I hung up, she rang back sounding quite frustrated and insisted on talking to whoever is in charge of the electricity supply here. Unfortunately for her, that was me. With all the chaos happening around energy firms right now, I reckon we’ll be seeing more of these slimy scam artists popping up. Proper low-life scammers, honestly.

Got a call from someone claiming to be EDF, they kept pestering me with loads of questions about my energy usage. Like someone else mentioned here, they said we had been charged too much. They also sent a suspicious email with some kind of code, it looked pretty legit at first. But something felt off, so I rang EDF myself and they told me straight away it was definitely a scam!

Somebody rang me saying they were from EDF and wanted my supply number. I told them it sounded dodgy because if I gave it, they might switch my provider without asking me. Plus, if they were really EDF, they’d already know my details and be able to say what my last few bills were. After that, they just hung up on me.

Someone rang up pretending to be from Haven Power, telling me there was an issue with our account and they needed a meter reading. I had a feeling it was a scam, so I got in touch with Haven Power directly (they actually supply our business) and they confirmed everything was fine with our account. They also said they'd inform all their customers by email to be careful about this sort of fraud.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was from some energy meter reading firm, but his English was so bad I could barely understand him. He asked me to have a bill ready, but I couldn’t figure out which meter or supplier he meant since we’ve got a couple. When I asked for details, he got annoyed and kept insisting, so I just ended the call. Tried ringing back afterwards and got nothing but a busy tone. Seems dodgy to me, like they're just fishing for info to sneak into your utility accounts. Best not to pick up.

Got a call today from this number claiming to be from British Gas Lite. They said there was some issue with my account and wanted to check stuff like the MPAN number and contract date on my bill. I told them I wasn’t comfortable sharing that info but they kept pushing. When I asked if they could send me an email instead, they just ended the call suddenly!

Someone claiming to be from British Gas's meter team phoned, saying there'd been a mix-up with our meter readings because the reader apparently recorded the wrong meter and put it on our account. But we’re a business, and they gave us a residential postcode which obviously didn’t match our details. When I asked for proof they were actually with British Gas, they kept transferring me to several different people who couldn't give me any info specific to our account, only stuff that’s public on Companies House! Needless to say, we reported them to British Gas straight away. Seems like they’re trying to switch your provider over to their own company without you knowing!

This morning I got a call from someone saying he was with EON and warned me that three of our locations would lose power from noon until Friday. He said he needed our supply number and some personal info to set up a temporary supply. I told him to call me back at 11 am so I could verify the details. Of course, he never rang again. I then contacted our actual energy company, and they confirmed it was a scam.

This number keeps ringing me saying they're from British Gas, telling me our deal’s run out and they want to prepare a bill so we can consider some options. When I mentioned we don’t have any gas service, they switched to saying it was about electricity instead. They tried reading the last part of our MPAN code but wanted me to confirm the first part - I refused to share that. Their accents sounded off, definitely not British and quite difficult to understand. When I asked for details by email, they said they weren’t able to do that. Felt really suspicious to me, so I’d steer well clear of them. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I update my meter readings online every month, so there’s no way they could have messed up my billing. This is the fourth time in a couple of months I’ve been hassled by these calls. They try to frighten you by warning of a massive bill coming if you don’t sort it. Definitely a scam.
