They was trying to make me start up my computer or laptop cos they said my internet was full of viruses!!! Thing is, I don’t own a laptop or computer at all. But they did know who provides my internet which nearly caught me out for a sec. In the background, you can hear loads of people like a call centre - obviously a bunch of these scammers working together. Proper nasty scumbags.

Hello, is this Mr James? (Not my real name, bit suspicious!) She said she was Miss Jennifer (doesn’t sound legit). Claimed she was calling for the UK government (big warning sign). I asked, "Can you verify that you actually work for the UK government?" She replied, "No, I don’t." I told her to take back her initial claim. But she just repeated the same spiel. Hung up straight away!

This number has rung me a few times now. The bloke said he was with some company called Homestyle. I told him I wasn’t up for answering any questions, and he warned me he'd keep ringing if I didn’t respond. I hung up and sure enough, he called again right away, but I ignored it. Honestly, feels like I can't even use my landline without getting harassed.

I think the reason alot of people get cut off is cause this is most likely an autodialer. It only passes you through to an actual person if you pick up quick enough. I picked up the landline (something I really don’t like doing these days). There was awful background noise, like people chatting, then a man with a southern English accent asked for “Edith”. My name’s Eilidh, which isn’t very common outside Scotland, but it definitely doesn’t sound or spell like Edith. So I repeated “Edith” and he said “yeah”. I told him nobody by that name was here and he just hung up straight away. Totally unprofessional call with zero care about customer service. Honestly, I reckon if I had been Edith, it would have been some sort of scam.
