So, we received a call from some folks claiming to be from a solar company-let's call them Solar Nonsense. They kicked things off with, “Hello, this is so-and-so from Solar Nonsense, don’t worry, I won’t take up much of your time, just a few quick questions about solar energy. Do you think subsidies would help reduce the costs of solar heating?” To which we answered, “Sounds decent enough.” Then, out of the blue, they asked, “Are you familiar with solar heating?” We nodded in agreement with a “yes," and just like that, they hung up on us! Quite the peculiar encounter, I'd say!

We were told it would just be a brief call, to which we answered, "that's right," before promptly hanging up.

I’ve received calls on two of my numbers that are ex-directory. The callers use an 0800 number, which means that they cover the call cost when you ring them, allowing for lengthy conversations without worrying about the bill. The 0800 number in question is 0800 8488650. They claim to be registered at 90 Guildhall Street, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 IPR. Interestingly, they mention that they filter their contact lists through the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), but it seems they’re not actually listed in the database. Quite curious, isn’t it?

We had a missed call, so we decided to return the call. The folks on the other end wanted to chat about solar energy, but we made it clear that we weren't keen on it. We told them we're not fans of unsolicited calls and promptly ended the conversation. To be honest, I've no idea what they might have said in response.

We received a call from this number, and the individual on the line claimed to be associated with some solar company or another. They posed a question to us, to which we replied, "I’m not inclined to participate." He insisted that there was no participation required. Unfazed, we reiterated, "I have no interest." He then probed, asking, "What exactly are you uninterested in?" To which we simply stated, "I’m uninterested in this phone call." At that point, he abruptly hung up! Quite impolite, if you ask me!

Did you happen to get a missed call? I’m curious to know when you reckon the government ought to start rolling out subsidies for those looking to install solar heating systems. In the end, we ended up hanging up on those utter nuisances who were just wasting our time.

I recently received a call from this lot. We made it clear that we’re on the Telephone Preference Service list. The supervisor casually mentioned that they dial random numbers, and suggested I verify my registration with TPS. Well, that was the last straw, and we promptly ended the call! I've gone ahead and submitted a complaint on the TPS website. I strongly encourage others to do the same!

These individuals are an absolute bother, repeatedly calling each successive number at my workplace. I have a total of 100 consecutive direct dial numbers!

They keep ringing me, but I’ve yet to speak to a real person; it’s just a continuous stream of nuisance calls.

We received a call from someone identifying themselves as Robert from Solar Essence, I believe. They greeted us with a rather curious, "Hello, how are we finding you today?" To which we cheekily responded, "You've managed to reach us by calling our number." After that, we ended the conversation. It's quite mysterious how they came to possess our number in the first place!

I just went through every number in my workplace. My primary lines are on the TPS list, yet these folks seemed to be randomly dialing through my DDI range like it was a game of chance. I'd suggest giving them a ring back on the number that appeared on the caller ID and asking, “Are we speaking to the homeowner?” It tends to rattle them a bit. Let's all join in on this little endeavour!

It's quite frustrating, isn't it? I've opted for an unlisted number and signed up for the service to avoid unsolicited calls, yet it seems it’s all in vain!

I've received multiple calls from these chaps who always start off with a cheery "Hi, how's it going?" without even telling me who they are. They claim they won't monopolise my time, but I couldn't help but point out, "You've already wasted it!" before hanging up. I’m all for taking a stand against these intrusive nuisances-it's about time we showed them a thing or two!

I've been receiving calls from various numbers in my office sequence. It's quite peculiar, to say the least.

I've opted for an unlisted number, sharing it only with a select few, yet this particular number keeps ringing through. It tends to happen when I'm at work and conveniently out of the office! You'd think after three persistent tries, they'd wise up and stop or perhaps even try at a different time. When we finally do pick up, they’re in for a rather brusque conversation!

We've just received a call from them, and the moment we asked, "How did you come by our ex-directory number?" the caller simply said, "Sorry," and hung up. What utter rudeness!

I just received a call from a number linked to our broadband service, which isn’t even publicly listed! Utterly baffling! The lady on the line assured us she wouldn’t keep us long, so we nodded along and ended the conversation. How odd!

This call seemed to be intended for homeowners; it turns out they were conducting a survey regarding solar heating. It looks like the company that called is called Solar Home.

I've been toying with the idea of placing a classified ad for "an African Grey parrot available for a loving home," and I’d include my number. Bet that would result in quite a few calls, wouldn’t it?
