01223790807 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01223790807 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance and likely scam involving cold calls about home insulation grants or energy savings, often with callers using foreign accents and claiming to represent local councils or government bodies. Callers frequently pressure recipients for personal information, refuse to provide verifiable details, and may become aggressive or hang up abruptly. Many report silent calls or hang-ups once answered, with no messages left on answer machines. The number is associated with harassment, spoofing, and attempts to obtain sensitive data under false pretences. Blocking offers limited relief due to the use of fake or paid UK numbers. Victims are advised to avoid engagement, report incidents to official fraud agencies, and consider raising the issue with MPs to seek stronger regulatory measures.

They rang me earlier today saying they were from Sky, but I couldn't get them to confirm it properly. I ended the call, but they tried calling back twice again, so I just let it go to voicemail.

Got a call at 8 in the morning, just like a lot of others have mentioned. When I picked up, the line went dead straight away, no one said a word. These automated calls are seriously frustrating and honestly, they could even be harmful. There has to be a way to put an end to them.

Some bloke called claiming to be from some energy saving company, sounded like he had a South African accent. I told him I wasn’t interested, and he just snapped back with a “fuck off then.” I just chuckled and hung up on him.

I had a feeling it was one of those dodgy calls. When I asked who it was, the person said it was the council. I then asked which council exactly, but he clearly couldn’t say Ceredigion properly. He wouldn’t tell me which department he was from, just kept saying he’d already said where he was calling from. When I asked for a contact number, he just got annoyed and hung up on me. When are these annoying calls gonna stop? Not everyone’s a fool you know.

Was a number I didn’t know so I just ignored it for a bit before picking up, but then they hung up straight away. Pretty sure it was some sort of scam or robo-call.

Got a call from a guy with a thick foreign accent who said he was from Somerset Council doing a survey about Loft Insulation grants. I told him I wasn’t the homeowner, which normally stops these types right there but he kept pushing. When I mentioned I already had loft insulation, he started asking about my central heating and suggested I should apply for these grants to get a new heating system instead of my night storage heaters. That’s when I realised it was a scam and hung up straight away.

I received a rather intrusive call concerning a government grant for insulation. The caller posed numerous inquiries, most of which I chose not to respond to. Despite my insistence that I'd already sorted it, they continued to press for answers and even rang me three additional times in rapid succession. A definite nuisance - clearly a scam caller.

Got a call about insulation, told them I wasn’t interested and put the phone down. They rang straight back, so I hung up again. Then they called once more and asked if I lived at a certain address. I said no, but they just carried on talking about central heating. Told them to leave me alone and stop ringing me.

Got a call about insulating my loft. The guy asked if it’d been done in the past eight years, and I said yes. He kept going so I just told him it was done last year (totally made that up) and he started yelling at me! Quite a laugh, honestly.

They claimed to be working alongside the council and energy firms, asked me about my heating system and if I receive any benefits. At first, they insisted they weren’t trying to sell me anything, but then they switched to a sales pitch so I just ended the call.

Got a missed call that I’m pretty sure was some sort of scam. I’ve seen others suggesting to report them, but honestly, I gave ActionFraud a go and it was such a faff - loads of hoops to jump through and in the end, nothing came of it. Apparently, ActionFraud is handled by a private company working for the police, and the police only seem to care if you’ve actually lost money. HMRC only deals with impersonators claiming to be from them, so no luck there either. Does anyone actually know if there's any way to shut these scammers down for good?

I got a call asking for the person who lives here, and when I asked what it was about, they said something about grants and climbing energy prices, also wanted details about my heating system. Got a call from someone asking if I owned the house and whether I'd had loft insulation fitted more than eight years back, also wanted to know what type of central heating we use. Got a call from a bloke with a thick foreign accent, hard for me to catch everything, partly 'cause of my tinnitus messing with my hearing. He asked if I was the person who owns the house. Said he was from some energy savings company, maybe National Energy Savers in Manchester? The number showed up as a Cambridge one though. He wanted to talk about my loft insulation. I’d only just woken up, so couldn’t really concentrate. Since I wasn’t catching much, he just gave up and ended the call. Definitely seems like some kinda scam.

Somebody rang saying they were from a scheme about government help for home insulation. I reckon it was just a sales job, proper officials wouldn’t just call out of the blue like that. They already had my name, address and postcode, but that info isn’t hard to get hold of. I don’t bother with cold calls because usually they’re just scams, so I ended the call quickly!
