Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon saying I was charged for a year of Prime. When I told them I don’t even have a Prime account, they just hung up on me. Definite scam, don’t fall for it!

This company keeps ringing my elderly and vulnerable mum loads of times every month. It’s really worrying for her, so we’re starting to switch to a new provider. It seems like these jokers either pass her number around or are using multiple phone lines themselves.

I received a call that claimed to be from the "tech support" team at Microsoft, claiming my computer had been compromised. The caller spun quite a convincing tale that nearly had me believing him. However, it turned out to be just another run-of-the-mill scam.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft support. Honestly, I told them stuff I can’t really share here! After that, I’m pretty sure they won’t be ringing me up ever again.

Got a call from some scammers in India pretending to be from Microsoft. They tried to convince me that the Class ID, or CLSID, on a zip folder was actually my computer’s Licence Service ID. It’s just a trick to make you think they’ve got your special computer ID. But in reality, that CLSID for zip folders is identical on all machines from Windows XP and later. Don’t let these fraudsters fool you!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, telling me my computer had been hacked. Then they tried to prove it was them, like that’d make me fall for it. When I asked how much it’d cost, she just stumbled over her words and said she couldn’t explain. Totally fishy!
