Got two calls today saying I'd be arrested over some fraud with my NI number. They kept talkin' about the Royal Courts of Justice but it’s definitely a civil issue, not something that goes straight to the big courts. Plus, wouldn’t a case like that start in a magistrates court anyway? Proper dodgy if you ask me!

Initially, I felt a twinge of concern, but then I managed to redirect my thoughts and reminded myself that I have done nothing wrong whatsoever! Clearly, it’s a scam! I got a robo-call saying I needed to get in touch with HMRC straight away or my solicitor had to, or else I’d be in big trouble. This is totally fake. HMRC wouldn’t ever reach out like that. If you're still unsure, don’t bother ringing the number they gave in the message. Instead, look up the main HMRC number on the official government site and call them directly. They’ll tell you the same thing - HMRC doesn’t do these automated calls!
