I got a call from someone claiming to be with a national phone blocking service aimed at people over 50 (which seemed odd)🤨. He wanted to "upgrade" our phone blocking service, but we don’t actually have one. He kept asking for my name and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I told him we didn’t want the service and that giving my name wasn’t necessary. When I dialled the number back, it just went to a recorded message saying they were calling for market research. Feels like a scam or just annoying spam to me.

I received a rather bothersome call, supposedly from a service dedicated to blocking nuisance calls. The moment I pointed out their dubious intentions, the caller became exceedingly impolite and even resorted to threatening me with having my service revoked, suggesting I'd be inundated with spam calls if I didn’t give him a chance to explain their so-called enhanced offerings. When I found his antics amusing, he clearly took offence! To top it off, they had my outdated address from yonks ago. Decided it was best to hang up.

Caller said they were from 'National' or something like that but fumbled the address and name a bit. I just went along with it and said yes. They wanted to know my age group, so I said in my 80s, and then they suddenly ended the call. Definitely sounded like it came from a call centre overseas, not from around Birmingham.
