Since then, I’ve started using the call filtering feature on my iPhone, and it's been really helpful. On iOS 26.3.1, just go to Settings, then Apps, Phone, and find ‘Screen Unknown Callers’, then choose the ‘Ask Reason For Calling’ option. Now if anyone not in my contacts calls, they have to leave a reason for their call, which is converted to text automatically. That way, I can see what they want before deciding to answer.
