I’m sick to death of these calls, I just don’t pick up if I don’t know the number now. They ring me from all sorts of places, mostly from Asia, and weirdly sometimes it’s the same person calling from different cities like Bristol one day, then London the next. I get at least five every day. I’ve tried blocking them but they just use a new number each time. With all the tech we have nowadays, you’d think there’d be a way to put an end to this. Got a call on a Saturday just after midday from an Indian lady asking about some housing association I supposedly live with. Told her she had the wrong number and that wasn’t me, then they just cut me off. Councils don’t usually work weekends, so yeah, definitely a scam.

I got a call on my mobile from a lady with an Asian accent. All I could really make out was something about 'household' but there was loads of noise in the background, sounded like a boiler or something. Told her I couldn’t hear properly and she just hung up straight away. If it was that usual warranty scam, it’s a strange coincidence as we only had our washing machine fixed a couple of days back. Very suspicious!

I got a call from someone claiming to be with The Housing Disrepair Team, saying they wanted to talk about issues like leaks, cracks and damp that supposedly the council hadn’t sorted. I told them it’s a private property and not council-owned, and after messing up what to say next, the bloke just cut off. The number showed up as from Birmingham, but I reckon it’s really one of those scam centres based in India.

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent using this number. She introduced herself as representing a home appliance insurance company, trying to persuade me to renew coverage on my washing machine and boiler. I mentioned that I was satisfied with my existing insurance, but she persisted, even suggesting coverage for my kitchen gadgets. This lady was relentless! Despite my multiple requests for her to cease calling, she carried on regardless. Ultimately, I had no choice but to block her number entirely!
