9 monthsGot a call from this number around 6.15pm claiming to be from a housing repairs team. I was suspicious straight away as neither me nor my partner have asked for any repairs to be done. I asked them which council or housing provider they were working for, but the person couldn’t give me a clear answer quickly enough. That made me realise it wasn’t a genuine call. Tried to ask a few more basic questions, but got no proper replies. Be careful with this number, it’s not linked to any official housing association or council and you could end up getting scammed.9 monthsMy mate next door got a ring from 01218055393. The bloke on the phone said it was some sort of survey. Luckily she didn’t hand over any details. We both reported it to the council right after.9 monthsI didn’t pick up, looked like it might be some spam number showing on my phone.9 monthsThis dodgy number really ought to be blocked already. A few comments down, maybe about 8 to 14 from here, there’s info on how to report these scam calls to the police or Ofcom who have systems to tackle this sort of thing. The problem is loads of people in the UK just don’t bother. Blocking numbers is pointless because scammers just ring back from other ones. It’s the vulnerable who end up losing out, and the rest of us just get well annoyed with all these calls and messages.OfcomUK9 monthsThe guy had an Indian accent...after reading the comments above I reckon he was probably talking about "housing repairs" or something along them lines but I couldnt really catch what he said so I just told him he was rubbish and ended the call.9 monthsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent about a housing repair I never asked for, told them to jog on pretty rudely.9 monthsI got a call at 3:58pm from a Birmingham number yesterday. Either way, ALL scam calls need to be reported to the police or the Ofcom system made for this. There’s info on how to do it in the last few comments here, just scroll back 4 or 5 posts. Scammers get away with it because most people never report anything. Official figures say scam calls and messages aren’t a big issue, but that’s only because lots of victims don’t bother reporting to Action Fraud.
