Got a call around 7 in the evening from someone sounding Australian or Kiwis, who reckoned we’d paid too much interest on our mortgage and were due a refund because of some broker fee. Thing is, we don’t have a broker at all. They tried to hook me up with an “expert” who supposedly had all our info and would sort out the forms. I said no thanks and told them I’d ring the building society myself to check if any of it was true.
