A chap just rang us regarding outstanding payments from a self-employed insurance scheme. When I requested more information to verify their legitimacy, he abruptly ended the call, stating he would contact me again. It seemed he was keen to set me up with this so-called advisor, a rather fishy approach if you ask me-likely just a ploy to gather our personal information.

I received a call around 7 in the evening from someone who sounded either Australian or from New Zealand. They claimed that we had overpaid interest on our mortgage and that we were entitled to a refund because some broker had taken a commission-except we’ve never even dealt with a broker! They then tried to transfer me to some so-called “expert” who would be able to access all our personal information and assist us with the paperwork. I was sceptical and told them I'd rather check with my building society first to see if there was any truth to their claims.
