Today I got a call from 0121 794 3712, some automated voice talking about an accident I was supposedly involved in. They asked me to confirm some details but since it was just a recording, I didn’t say anything. The call ended really quick after that.

No AO here today for me either. This really felt like another call centre tied to contracts. I got a really unprepared young guy on the line, who asked me, "Did we offer finance or leasing?" When I said no, he just ended the call straight away. The way he talked was dull and completely unengaging. Honestly, if companies are gonna send these folks out there, the least they could do is train them decently so they don’t come across so clueless and rude.

AO - He tried to pass the call off as a polite chat to explain the delivery steps. Asked if I had a 24-hour contact number for the lifespan of the fridge freezer. I stopped him quickly, saying I wasn’t interested in any extra warranty or insurance. He just wrapped it up, and I never got given that so-called 24-hour support number, haha.

Got a call from some company named First Solutions, with a bloke called Alan on the line. When I asked where they got my number, he said something about a customer survey. Then I asked what the call was about and he just dropped the line. These calls keep coming from all over the place and it’s driving me mad. Blocked them now.

We’d just bought a freezer on AO’s website. I answered the phone right away but there was silence on the line. After a bit I hung up and then looked it up here. Even if they were trying to push insurance I wouldn’t have bothered. Around the same time we got a fridge from John Lewis who also called, but they just left a polite recorded message about the delivery time and a number to call if needed. Simple, polite, and useful. AO could really learn from how John Lewis handle things, in my opinion.

Got a call from Appliances Online, supposedly to confirm our order, but it turned out to be a pushy sales pitch for insurance on the appliance. The guy was quite talkative, but the moment I said we weren’t interested in the insurance, he ended the call pretty fast. Like the other comment here, it’s a decent site for buying stuff - bought from them a few years back without any issues. Bit annoying they only try to sell the warranty after the sale when you could’ve had the option right at checkout.

I tried calling back on my mobile and it said the number wasn’t supported on my phone, so I couldn’t get through. No clue who it was at first, but after reading the comments here, we’ve just placed an order from a0 0, so I reckon it must be them.

If this really is a0, I wouldn’t be shocked at all. We get loads of calls from their Manchester line and always ignore them. Seems like now they’re switching tactics and using a local number or something. Since the stuff we got from them is already a year old, I guess they just want us to renew the warranty or whatever.
