Got a call from this number on Friday morning when I was at work. They didn’t leave any message or voicemail. I wasn’t really expecting them to ring me up either.

What annoys me the most is this scam call I got where a woman’s voice, clearly pre-recorded, kept saying I’d paid money to Amazon and some other places from unknown accounts. It’s so obvious they want to trick you into giving them your bank info. They’re really just after vulnerable people, like the elderly. Absolute thieves!

They’re quite bothersome, aren’t they? Best to instruct them to drop you an email instead. It’s wiser not to commit to anything during a phone conversation.

I've been receiving calls from someone claiming to be from British Gas, insisting that my account is due for renewal. When I probed for a contact number, the person provided 0121 7900222 and introduced himself as Alex Marden. However, I must say, his accent seemed quite out of place for a chap with that name. Quite suspicious, don’t you think?

I received a call from what claimed to be a provider of gas and electricity contracts, linked to a business I used to be part of - but that was five years ago! The firm has since been dissolved, and I found myself giving the caller a right earful. It’s all becoming rather tiresome, to be honest.
