Reports on phone number 01217900213
2 yearsToday wasn’t about taxes, actually. This bloke claimed to be from BT and started going on about hackers. I just told him to jog on because honestly, he sounded like the dodgy one to me.BT7 yearsGot a text this morning saying it was urgent and to ring HMRC on 0121 752 2688 within ten minutes. When I rang, a really robotic voice answered saying HMRC customs, how can I help you? Then an Indian or Pakistani bloke came on and I couldn’t really catch what he was on about. Weirdly, he knew my old address and mentioned about £3,000 something but I wasn’t sure if I owed it or if they owed me. He kept going on about the last five years. I told him I couldn’t follow and asked him to send me something in writing before hanging up. Pretty sure it’s a scam.HMRC10 yearsI received two voicemail messages on my phone from someone named Heather Graham, who claimed to represent HMRC and warned me of potential legal proceedings if I didn’t get in touch using the number provided. The call seemed to be a pre-recorded one, with a rather poor sound quality, and the voice had a hint of an American accent. I’ve seen similar reports in the newspapers, highlighting this as a scam.Heather GrahamHMRC10 yearsThey keep telling me to give back the car or they’ll take legal steps and call me again, but honestly this is a scam cause I dont own any car.10 yearsI received a voicemail purporting to be from HMRC, urging me to return their call at my earliest convenience. When I dialled back, they requested both my name and my insurance number, which immediately raised alarm bells for me. I terminated the call without hesitation.HMRC10 yearsSimilar to most folks here, this person said they were from HMRC, talking about some urgent problem that needed sorting right away or I'd get into legal trouble. I phoned back and got the same guy with a thick accent. Thankfully, I was looking up the number on here before I called back. I ended the call straight away.HMRC10 yearsJust like others said before, watch out cause this is definitely a scam! The people on the other end get really nasty if you question them at all.10 yearsGot a call from some robotic voice saying the same thing, so I probably made a daft mistake and called back. This bloke claiming to be from HMRC was from Pakistan or somewhere, going on about me owing tax and threatening to take my house and car if I didn’t pay up. Proper scary and pushy call, to be honest. I told him I’m not working and he just kept going. In the end, I had enough and shouted at him, then he finally hung up.PakistanHMRC10 yearsGot a voicemail from someone claiming to be Heather, a HMRC agent. I rang back, only to be told my tax was all wrong. They wouldn’t let me say much, going through their spiel and threatening police and court stuff. The caller was super pushy, demanding loads of money as a “kind gesture” to the courts and seemed to have personal info like names, phone numbers and addresses. When I finally tried to ask questions, they couldn’t answer. Really suspicious. I’ve contacted BT about it, so watch out!HMRCHeatherBT10 yearsWas a scam, they claimed they were from HMRC.HMRC10 yearsJust like the others, this one’s clearly a dodgy scam. Best to just ignore and bin it!10 yearsGot a call just like the others - robot voice, some urgent time thing, I missed a bit of what was said, finished with "take care". Number given was 0121 790 0213. Tried calling it back a few times, first just got a busy tone, then a lady picked up and said "hello". Asked who she was and she just cut me off. Pretty clear this is a scam.10 yearsLike I said, the robotic voice was really hard to make out, claimed it was from HMRC.HMRC10 yearsGot a call just now with some robotic voice claiming to be from HMRC, saying there's some urgent matter that needs sorting or else there'll be trouble. Not ringing them back, totally a scam! HMRC normally sends proper letters, not these creepy automated messages threatening you. Funny though, it finished with a "Take care!" - bit of a strange touch, innit?HMRC10 yearsGot a very similar message from a local number. They were saying they were gonna take legal steps for HMRC or something like that. Felt like a bit of a scam to me.HMRC10 yearsGot a call from some American sounding automated voice claiming to be from HMRC. Tried ringing back the Birmingham number they gave but it’s no longer in service.HMRCBirmingham10 yearsThey rang me both Saturday and today, left identical messages. It's like the others have said, exactly the same one. I'm not botherin' to call them back. It sounded quite official, but I’m a bit sceptical about whether it's genuine.10 yearsWe got a weird automated message on our office voicemail, sounded like an American voice, telling us to ring back or they'd sue us. They didn't say who they were or what it was about.
