I called 118information to check if my details were current - that was fine. But if you dont pick up fast enough, they just cut you off since it’s all automated and then you get a distorted message. You’d assume a proper directory service would leave a clearer message to identify themselves and avoid bothering people like that.

If you're running a business, it probably won't hurt to double-check your details since that info is usually out there online anyway - especially if you expect customers to reach out. If you’re not a business, just tell them to take you off their list.
